    Thanks again Charley. I pulled on of your info. off last night along with some of the other info. shared earlier in the thread by others and put it all in one document that I have saved on my computer. Now, I hope to get a chance to go over it and give some compound cutting a try. Have some more basic patterns to start with though. Reindeer will have to wait a bit.

    Lucky you and Lucky us that he has gone the extra mile here to help anyone who sees it and is interested in compound cutting. Maybe one day I'll get the pleasure of meeting him - NC and East TN are not that far away!

    Thanks for taking all the time to write that up, take photos, etc. Charley and put it on here for all of us novices to learn from your hard work. It is greatly appreciated and will be saved in my "how to" file. When I finally get some time to sit down and give them a try i will report back on my success or failure!

    I agree with everyone, great job. I look forward to seeing more and any info anyone shares on doing multiple colors to the inlay. Like Marge said, you are being a great inspiration to those of us who are contemplating giving this a try. Thanks for sharing.

    Wow, that is an amazing piece of artwork you have crafted from the pattern creation to the final cut piece. Thanks for showing. I am afraid there is no way my patience would allow me to even think abut starting a piece like that.

    Thanks for continuing to give us detailed information about your process and how you do it with the compound cuts. I for one am saving it all to my computer for more detailed perusal when I have time to sit down and go through it slowly and completely before giving it a try. I think I am pretty good with following pattern lines now, especially thanks to a lot of puzzle cutting I have been doing, and I have some more simple patterns to try before I get to the reindeer. Good luck on all those projects you have to get done. Be sure you show us some pictures of those wine boxes along with those reindeer ones you are taking.
