  1. I was wondering where you had been past few days. Glad you had a good day. Hope the rest of the weekend goes as well.
  2. Glad that arctic chill that was befalling so many areas north was not yet sticking her chilly fingers down this far south just yet. High's today and through the weekend suppose to be mid-upper 50's. Warmer still next week into the 60's. Winter can wait as far as I am concerned. Would love another mild winter like we had last year. Here's hoping. in the mean time, for those of you not so fortunate, I hope that it warms up for you some at least.
  3. Ok - 12 days left until the deadline - several of you guys and gals said "maybe" - I hope you will join us. Seriously, they don't have to be great detailed designs. Simple ornaments that can be cut and used by anyone would be the ideal. It really takes very little of your time when you put your mind to it. Download and look through the book as it exists now and see what has been done and that will help give you ideas as well. I hope we can get at least 5 total which would give us 25 new designs but would love to see 10 total for 50 new designs. You can do it - I know you can - if I can - you guys and gals can come up with some cute and simple designs I know it!
  4. Welcome back. You are correct - you had a lot going on lately. Sorry for the loss of your laptop. glad you were finally able to get a new one Nice work on the painting. Hope you enjoyed your time here in the USA.
  5. Thanks for sharing your pattern with us. Great job on it and the cutting. Will be well received I believe.
  6. So @smitty0312 how did it go? What did the two of you work on? Details please.
  7. Yes, thanks to all the Vets and their families here and around the world who have given so much so we can all be safe and secure.
  8. I agree - love everything and everyone here for all their help, information, encouragement that has been offered since I joined up about a year and a half ago. Like you, I have done things I would never have done without having found the village. I too am thankful for the Village and my friends here.
  9. Awesome as always Denny. Like Monti, still on my "to do list". Hope mine looks half as good as yours. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Some stunning hand crafted projects there and clearly shows why you did so well. Thanks for sharing photos of the show. Show us more as you cut. We don't mind ooh-ing and ahh-ing more than once!
  11. Very nice job. I did that pattern last year and gave it to my mother-in-law. I hope the recipient of yours appreciates your work. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Another thing to add to my long and ever growing "to do" list from Steve's site. Yours are great. Thanks for showing.
  13. Beautiful job and I am sure like in the movie about building it and they will come - I am sure if you shared the pattern many would love it and do it. I would probably get it, and hope to do it one day but as trackman noted - lettering is one of the hardest things (at least in my opinion) to cut properly. Having just ventured there, not sure when I would feel confident enough to give this one a try. Although I know several people who would love it. I think its great. Thanks for sharing.

Looks great Dan and i am sure the lucky recipients are going to love it. Thanks for showing.
  15. Those look awesome Jim and congratulations to your club members for getting them done. I hope you can get pictures of them after they are painted. Would love to see them. That is a great fund raising idea. Could you share where to get the pattern. I really like the chairs.
  16. Very cute Dan. I have something similar done from too long ago that I am embarrassed to tell it. It's together, needed to be painted. Still needs to be painted. The ones I saw were snowman on one side, and scarecrow on the flip side so it was good for two seasons. Maybe now that my attending my children's sporting events after 16 years has now come to an end with the end of my DD's college VB season this weekend, I can find time for the painting!
  17. i have a branding iron for large projects and still sign it with my signature or initials and date it. For smaller items, i either sign or put initials and date with a fine point marker before sealing the project. I recently got a wood burner with pen tips and have used that as well. I need to look into the stamp idea for small items. For those of you using stamps, could you share a photo to let us "see". @kmmcrafts - Kevin, I would think that with the heavy paper tag on the hanger, many people would tear them off and/or they would be torn/lost over time.
  18. Glad your daughter has decided to learn your passion for her school project. I don't have any specific suggestions but think your idea of having her start with straight lines, curves, points, etc. to learn the basics is good starting place. Then I would have several ideas of small projects for her to choose from. Give her the ones you mentioned and maybe some more, or ask her if she has any ideas on what she would like to try and learn. If they have an interest based on what they are interested in, I think it will "hook" them more often then if they are doing this because Mom or Dad wants me to, or because I had to do it for my class. What we think she might want to "do" may be totally off from what she in facts wants to learn to do with the saw. If she isn't sure, give her the ideas, show her some ideas from other things you have done, books or patterns you have , etc. good luck and enjoy the time with her.
  19. Cute idea and great use of scraps.
  20. Beautiful work with beautiful wood. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Beautiful work and I am sure your wife will love it.
  22. Spontainiously cute idea Monti. I really like it. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Great find. Show us what you and the kids do.
  24. Thanks Denny. I will check.
  25. I've been looking for that but haven't found it - "yet" Is it a special addition of the magazine or a book they published?
