  1. Welcome to the Village from East TN. Glad you gotten bitten by the bug. Steve Good's site is a treasure trove for newbies. Was so happy when I found his site and the Village here. Nice work you have shown, keep it up and keep participating here at the village.
  2. Wow Denny, you are fast! I just got mine yesterday so I figure yours was about the same time given our locations and here you are with that already done.! It's beautiful and I love the use of the yellow heart for the star. I hope to give this a try at some point so thanks for letting us know the woods and blades you used. If mine is half as good as yours I would consider it well done. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Hi Travis and welcome to the Village. As Paul and Denny noted, there are indeed several of us here from TN. Glad to have another join us, especially from the Knoxville area. Look forward to seeing what kind of work you are interested in doing. If you are at all interested in Imtarsia work, one of the greatest Imtarsia artist is found locally here in Seymour, Judy Gale Roberts. You can find her site at Imtarsia.com. She has an open house coming up soon that would be worth checking out if you can. Check her site for dates and times if interested.
  4. Edy nice. Good luck with your Christmas sales.
  5. Looking good Kevin. Hope you find the right angel.
  6. Nice work. I too like it with the black background over the yellow. Pops a lot more. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing. Like the oak wood used.
  8. Another beautiful piece with an important message for us all. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Beautiful work . Will be well received by the lucky recipient. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Nice job and adaption. You should send pic to Steve Good and show him. He may even make you famous and show it on his site like Iggy
  11. Ditto. Nice work and thanks to all veterans for your oservice.
  12. Nice find, nice work Kevin. Guess your warehouse was lucky and must sit higher up. Good thing?
  13. Twice as nice when you can get two new saws in. Glad to hear that all is good it seems with both. Look forward to hearing more about your Hawk when you get time to use it.
  14. Sorry to hear you didn't have much luck Edward. Sounds like you never know. I also wonder if the time of the month makes a difference. If first of month or end of month would be better then the middle of month. Thinking about when people get paid, bills due, so timing on when extra cash might be had.
  15. Welcome to the Village from across the Pond. I am in Eastern Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. Some nice work there. I don't do instagram so I am afraid I won't see it if you don't share here. I look forward to your participation. Many here have found Steve Good through this site, or this site through Steve's.
  16. Hello and welcome to the village. Hope you didn't have much problems with Irma wherever you are there in FL. I agree with Dan, put your request in the pattern requests subsection here in the forums. Everybody doesn't necessarily read all the sections (though I am one who does - afraid I will miss something ) since there are many sections. So a pattern, asked who might could help might not see it here but regularly check the pattern requests section.
  17. Glad your back is doing a bit better and you were able to spend some time at your saw. Don't overdo it though! Nice work. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Good news all around then. Two new saws. From what I hear from everyone who takes their Dewalts to the service centers - most of the time it seems you end up getting a new saw if its still under warranty. Makes me wonder if everyone there is like me and has no idea how to service and repair them! Sounds like I could get hired if that is the case! I can easily say, "don't know so we are getting you a new saw". At least most people would be happy at that point!
  19. Stunning and beautiful work on all 3 Ron. thanks for sharing.
  20. A nice looking trivet pattern created by Bob and crafted into a beautiful finished piece Denny. I like the look of it cut in Butternut. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Nice work. We have beavers in the area here too. Thanks for sharing.

    My Dog

Very nice looking dog there Aggie. Glad you were able to get a good picture to work with. Excellent job all around. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Very nice looking project Denny. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Hi Kris and welcome. I'm not going to be able to help with your problem but I did want to say hello and welcome. Lots of experienced, technical scrollers on here so hopefully some of them can give you some good ideas/help. I'm not familiar with that saw and the "technical" side I have my hubby as my go to for help. One question I did have is do you have the bolted to a saw stand or a table? I would think having it attached to a stand or table would cut down on the bucking perhaps.
  25. Welcome to the Village. When it comes to scrolling - pictures speak a thousand words in all languages. Yours show some beautiful work. thanks for sharing.
