  1. Hello Raul and another welcome from Tennessee. I love the work you have shown. I see your interests in creating with wood are varied. I too love the Intarsia work but since joining this forum, my interests and attempts to do other things has expanded and continues to grow. I love your box. Those are on my to do list. I love the look of the vinyl record cutting some of you are doing. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Welcome Back Travis. Hopefully Todd is the one who got you to come back and hangout in the Village. Always good to have local friends like you guys do that share some of the same interests. Look forward to seeing some of your work.
  3. Welcome to the Village from another Tennesseean. Look forward to your participation and photos of your work.
  4. Looks like I missed this post first time around Iggy. Wanted to say thanks for sharing your steps and information and thanks as well to others who provided more help and insight. Need to investigate finding the "hardware cloth" and making a drying rack.
  5. Excellent looking project that the new bride and groom will treasure for years to come. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Beautiful piece of art you have created there Denny and I am sure the recipients will love it. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Nice work as always Kevin. Lots of happy people when they get theirs. Glad you are better and busy. Thanks for taking time to share.
  8. Ditto - absolutely beautiful work. I KNOW I don't have the patience or ability to drill that many holes and then cut it all out. Thanks for sharing your photos though for me to admire your talent and skill level.
  9. Very nice work. I think the bugs prefer a little more room though - at least they seem to like the extra room I have around here!
  10. Thanks for asking your question and thanks to all who have provided helpful tips and information on how/what you do or links to places to find info, etc. Always good to have this info. out there for us newbies. I hope to try again soon on some puzzles.
  11. Very nice work. Love those types of signs with the different lettering and parts and pieces. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Thanks for the extended review Randy. Always good to hear other's thoughts.
  13. Another nice piece of work. Thanks for sharing this one as well.
  14. Nice work. Thanks for sharing. I like your take on all the vinyl pieces you are doing. Will have to give that a try someday.
  15. Even though Catfish themselves are very ugly creatures - I think your cutting looks very nice. Like the framing as well. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Very nice work Pete. I like them both. I did download the butterfly one myself from Steve's site. Its on the "someday" pile. Thanks for showing.
  17. Very nice clock Dave. You can always keep the batteries in "stock" and ask if they want the battery in or not when yo sell it. I think I remember seeing that on Steve's site - may have to try one when I get better with lettering. I know several people who would probably like one like that. Good luck with building your stock up and with the Farmers Market next month. Thanks for showing. Edited to add - Paul and I posted answers at same time. I like his idea of having a 5 at every hour! Will have to remember that!
  18. Good to see Roly. I'll keep an eye out for you and say some prayers that you have good weather and little waves. Might want to grab a tow behind a big boat for most of the trip though. Thanks Brian/Orangeman for giving us some info on the show and seeing the new Seyco saw in person. Glad you got a few minutes to chat with Steve Good.
  19. Stunning work Ron. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Roly - since when can you walk on water?!?!? Even so, that's a long walk across the big pond to get here! If you make it - stop off in East TN on your way down to Georgia!
  21. Hi Bill. Do you have the basic scanner software that allows you to scan with the scanner and save it directly to your computer? If you simply scan with the scanner's basic program, you should then be able to bring it into another program like you want.
  22. I had considered it - thought it would be great to meet Steve Good, and now you and some others who had noted going BUT decided while I am a lot closer then many of you here - 3-4 hour trip one way couldn't be done this weekend. Was really glad when I saw the fire that took out part of I-85 in Atlanta. That is going to be a headache there for a while I am afraid. Will definitely be going the alternate route through Carolina to get my son from Athens at the end of the semester! Hope you all enjoy the show. Be sure to share who you meet and show some pictures!
  23. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Good to see you back Kevin and glad you have been feeling better and so able to do some other things.
  25. Both Judy Gale Roberts at Intarsia.com and Ray at Seyco sell foot control switches. https://intarsia.com/collections/hardware/products/foot-switch and http://seyco.com/fs-3-universal-15-amp-foot-switch/ However, I had previously purchased one from Amazon before I got started and found either Judy's or Seyco's site. The second used saw I bought came with the saw. Mine is the saw is "on" and running while stepping on it and stops immediately if I lift my foot. I much prefer using the foot pedal while sawing and use it both when I sit or stand at the saw. As noted, you control the speed with the variable speed knob on the saw its self.
