  1. Beautiful work and what a lovely surprise for your wife. Hope those hands come soon. No fair hanging it where it is "hidden in plain site" though! Hope she "sees" it quick or she will never live it down!
  2. Very nice looking project. Like CaseyJ's too! thanks for sharing.
  3. Hope you are back up and running soon Edward! Hubby has been redoing the shop layout so I have been out for a bit - hope to get started back soon. He has created my own little "corner" in the shop with the sanders and the scroll saws! (I think he wants me to go and stay in the corner and out of the rest of the shop area! LOL!)
  4. Congratulations. Sounds like a great thing for you to attend. Clearly they have seen your work and are impressed. This should get you on their key vendor list. hope it goes well for you. Can't beat just down the road. Hope you already had your stock built up! Look forward to hearing how it goes for you.
  5. Hi Cindy and welcome to the forum from another TN member. Glad you decided to join in. Don't be shy - be sure and share with us what you are working on. Lots of great folks and help to be found here.
  6. Another welcome from another TN member. Sounds like a family affair with the saw. Good to hear. Enjoy the new saw and be sure to show us what you are all working on.
  7. Welcome to the Village. A Dewalt saw AND a Sandflee. Definitely sounds like a winner of a deal for you. Look forward to your participation here and seeing what you make with them.
  8. Welcome to the Village. Glad you were able to get a "steal" on a Dewalt. Look forward to seeing what you learn to do with it.
  9. Don't worry, I am sure you will figure it out sooner then later. If not, you can send it my way.
  10. Nice work Kevin. You have been busy. No lights in the bathroom - I am sure if you put a "tip jar" by it with a note that you fixed them for everyone you might get a little pocket change! Nobody likes to go to the bathroom in the dark much! I really like the "Melanie" with the Butterflies! So nice of you to make it for me!
  11. I agree, please don't hesitate to post your projects. I have been using the saw for less than a year so I promise that I myself am pretty green and it shows in my work. However, seeing the work of each other gives us many things - one inspiration, two knowledge to see how someone else handled doing a project, and good feedback when you want - just ask. I think it looks great. I made the small one Steve has for the phone, didn't quite fit the phones we had so I gave it away to a BIL. Still want to make one that works with my phone and one for my tablet. So many ideas - so little time! Thanks for sharing your photo.
  12. Just wanted to add my East TN welcome as well. Glad you figured out what you think was causing your chipping problem. Some nice looking puzzles. thanks for sharing your pics of them and look forward to your participation here on the forums.

Wanted to add another welcome from East TN near the Smokies. Glad to have you here. Look forward to your story and questions as well as pics of your projects. Great place here.
  14. Hi Dave and welcome to the Village. You have some beautiful pieces that you have shared there. Look forward to your participation and seeing more of your work. I am just a newbie to the saw myself, got it to do Intarsia work with - then I found this forum and have done some other basic simple pieces outside Intarsia. I have learned a lot from the guys and gals here and look forward to your wisdom and pictures as well.
  15. Another welcome from TN - this one from the foothills of the Smokies. Look forward to seeing what you are working on. Lots of great folks and great advice and knowledge here so be sure to ask if you have any questions. I'm a relative newbie to the saw myself (almost a year now so maybe I can drop the newbie status soon. ) and have throughly enjoyed all the helpful folks and their knowledge they freely share.
  16. Well, in spite of your topic header I still opened it and wanted to welcome you the Village. As you have found from your stalking of the forums, lots of great people and information to be found and shared here. Looks like you are well on your way to becoming hooked on working with the scroll saw. I look forward to seeing what other projects you share. Just, please - no elephants! (You might like the Intarsia one in my gallery files though.)
  17. Looks very nice Rick. Glad you got it ready to work. Thanks for showing your photos.
  18. Great job on the plaque Dave and I can see why Star Wars fans would love it. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Congratulations on your anniversary and may you have many more. I am sure your wife will love the gift. Glad you finally got some time with the computer cooperating to get it done. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Beautiful work all around, DonR for the pattern and your cutting and finishing the piece Denny. Sure your friend will love it. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Great news on it Dick. So glad they raised the money for little Asher's disease research for a cure. Your ram project was well worth the $ spent to buy it. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Hi Charles and welcome to the Village. You will get lots of great advice and wisdom from the many folks on here. Lots of great saws out there - really depends on your budget - your ability to "save" a while if needed before committing to a saw, etc. What one person likes or can afford, may not be what someone else likes or can afford. There are lots of threads across the forum that discusses the pros and cons of different saws, different blades, etc. so my best advise is to "explore" the forum throughly and see what information has already been shared here to get a "big picture". Then, decide your budget, etc. and then look for the best saw that fits your needs and budgets. Also, don't forget if you have a limited budget to check Craig's List, and other sources for "used saws" that can often be found in good if not great shape (sometimes people buy one or get one as a gift and never use it and then sell it cheap for example.) If you do buy use, make sure you can try it out before buying though and if in doubt, run it by the folks here to see if it is a good saw and/or buy for the price.
  23. Happy Valentine's to all. Hope everyone has a nice day. We choose to do dinner last night - beat the crowds that way and hubby may have to work late tonight.
  24. Looks like experts with more knowledge then me have provided you some good answers on your questions. As a relative newbie myself, I will leave you to their sage wisdom. However, I did want to say hello and welcome to the forum. While I might agree that most Grandmother's and Grannies will love most anything we do and give to them, I think it looks like you did great work for your first go at it. Keep at it and you too will be giving great advice here at some time.
  25. Welcome. Glad to have you here. Lots of great people with lots of good info. they are willing to share.
