  1. Nice work Jim. I like the brightly colored birds.
  2. Neat idea.
  3. Nice work Kevin. You are being more productive then me for sure. I give you an A all around.
  4. Maybe @Denny Knappenhas some knowledge or insight
  5. Another Tennessee welcome, from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Thank you for your service. Look forward to your participation here in the Village.
  6. Excellent pieces. I like the color you have added to the pieces.
  7. I’m with Ralph, he beat me to it, but I was going to say I wish I could come spend a week with you in your shop to learn from you Dave. Glad you and your granddaughter get to spend that quality time together. She will indeed treasure those items you and she create as well as the memories themselves and will take those skills with her throughout her life. she did an excellent job on her spidy box..
  8. Glad to see you pumping these out Kevin. Hope that means you are slowly getting better. Nice work, more happy recipients. Sorry no one seems to want to pay you though.
  9. Nice work Kevin. Never go wrong with the mouse and his friends.
  10. Keep this one and make another one for him.
  11. Nice work Kevin, will be lots of smiles and happy folks with those. Take all the breaks you need, remember you are still recovering. If you can cut three letters, then need a break, that’s what you need to do. Hopefully, each day with doing some work, will make you a little stronger.
  12. Let’s try a “copy and Paste” of Paul’s post and see if you can see it here. Paul Scrappile wrote” Been gone for sometime, having to readjust my life to the trials and tribulations of getting old... There are no "Golden Years" brothers and sisters, there is just "getting old, body wearing out" years... I have had to make some adjustments, but I am getting it figured out and am getting a chance to to spend some time in the shop..I really have not left the forum, I have just been present as a by-stander.. Got to say people, you have raised the scrolling bar. I see things being crafted that we did not use to do, well not much anyway... The addition of color in scrolled pieces is getting a lot more attention.. I see some really unique and beautiful productions... Kevin is back! That really had me worried.. So glad you are okay Kevin.. Scroll Saw Village would be less without you here. Over the past few weeks I have worked on a coupe things. Got to say if I had to pick a pattern of the year, for me it may be @FrankEV 's "Trees of Green". That is one of my favorite song, always lifts me up when I am somewhat down... The song has been going through my head every since he posted it.. Thought if I cut it, it would get out of my head, but it has not. So I cut it, but with a little modification.. I wanted to see some real rose looking flowers in it, after all it speaks of "red roses too". So I found some rose silhouette pictures and added them... Not real satisfied with it but am going to try some more. The four bottom black blobs were suppose to be silhouettes of rose bud... I will look further. Also I broke our three or four pieces after I finished cutting it. Got them glue back in, but it is far from good. Bad thing I cut it in a great piece of wood... but it is only wood.. this was trial one. The finished product I intend to add some color.. One thing that is an added bonus to Frank's pattern,,, If you cut the tree as one piece you get this neat little tree, to do something else with! The second thing I have recently built, this weekend in fact was just a fun project to help me keep my dogs balls in a good place. I made this ball dispenser. He is pretty happy with it, but he is pretty fussy about his balls, and was somewhat miffed that I screwed up a little on gluing the last "S" on the front.. So there it is.. Missed participating in thisforum. I will be here when I can..”
  13. Sorry Dan, not sure what the problem might be. Everything seems to be working and visible from my IPad. I just clicked on the screen captures I took and posted to see, it did take a few seconds to display them, did get black for a few seconds but then saw each. One thought, does your IPad do automatic updates to the operating software when it is released? Do you know what version it is presently running. Most up to date is 15.6 I believe. Do you completely shut down your IPad ever (completely turn it off, not just turn off the screen?) If you IPad is not running the most up to date OS, I would first start by updating it. If it is, I would do a complete and full shutdown and restart it. See if that may help. Sometimes just doing a complete shutdown, turnoff and then on will clear issues and things. It’s always good to do occasionally with all electronic devices like phones, tablets, computers, etc. it forces them to do a clean reboot that way. I can often clear weird things by doing that. I will try to do some research and see if I can find any potential info, can you tell me a little about your IPad. What model do you have? What IOS version is it on? Other details about it? it is definitely strange that you can apparently read some posts, but not a few others. Do you have any problems with anything else that you have noticed?
  14. Good to see your letter cutting skills are still top notch. I envy your ability.
  15. Kris, I can see from the several posts made that you have been busy creating patterns and cutting. As always, your work is excellent on both the pattern creating as well as the cutting.
  16. I a, usually always on my iPad and so far (knock on wood) I haven’t had any problems with reading any posts here in the Village including John’s History of the Scroll Saw or Paul’s most recent posts. Not sure cheat might be the problem for Dan. Here are screen captures of Paul’s post and photos of the two items he showed.
  17. Congratulations and Happy Birthday Barbara. Enjoy the new saw and show us what you are creating with it,
  18. Dick, Janevski is @neptunhere in the Village I believe. He has shared a number of patterns that can be found in our pattern Library here. It is in the animal subcategory. Frank posted the actual pattern above but it can be found in the library here: https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/gallery/image/9587-american-eagle-2/ Frank’s raven pattern can be found here: https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/46499-raven-on-branch-against-moon/#comment-493974
  19. Nice work Charlie. You. Are quickly going to run out of wall space at the rate you are doing these country artists.
  20. Thanks for sharing your index Don. I wanted to also post a link back to Steve’s patterns you are referencing (mainly for the “future” should someone find your post and want to easily find Steve’s patterns posted. ) https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2022/07/67-word-sign-scroll-saw-patterns.html
  21. The links to a couple of articles from Judy Gale Roberts, one of the main Intarsia artists may give some insight on your question: https://intarsia.com/pages/about-us and https://intarsia.com/pages/test-how-it-started
  22. Thanks John for sharing a wonderful history lesson.
  23. Great to get an update Paul and to see you have found some time in the shop. I am sure Ali loves his ball dispenser and appreciates the organization to easily find a ball to throw for him. Your Trees of Green looks good to me. Not sure if I attempted it that my tree would come out all in one piece. prayers for you and yours, visit and update when you can. You have been missed around here as well.
  24. First, my condolences on the sudden loss of your beautiful wife. My prayers for you and your family as you grieve and process your loss. Second, you did excellent work in creating your patterns and cutting them to honor her not only at her memorial service, but to be treasured for years to come in remembering her and your life together. The fact that you were able to create and cut them so quickly even amidst your grief is a tribute to the love you shared.
  25. Those are “samples” given away by your chief sales staff to help make further sales. Thus a deductible business expense. Besides, probably still cheaper then her having to go to the store and buy a much more expensive gift. Plus, happy wife or (“war office”)happy life.
