  1. Great looking box. You did a wonderful job.
  2. Looks like you've done a bang up job of cutting an icon. Is it an Alex Fox pattern?
  3. What saw do you have?
  4. That one turned out nice for sure.
  5. Looks great and a nice thing to do.
  6. Looks good. Would look even better with Rams.
  7. Don, that is beautiful. Lucky having a friend with a lazer cutter. I have not made a napkin holder but I did cut a couple of the wheels in anticipation of making a holder.
  8. Collecting patterns is just another hobby in itself!
  9. Hi JT. I don't want to top feed. Bottom feeding works for me. When I saw the Hegner modification I thought what a great idea. If I did that I would gain a little extra space to allow me to lift the wood a little higher and make it a little easier to thread the blade. However measuring my saw I could gain about one and a quarter inch before hitting the accessory arm. I was drilling with a #60 drill and trying to thread a #1 blade through the hole. I solved my problem by using a #55 drill and a #3 blade. So now all this becomes academic. I guess I caused a "Tempest in a Tea Pot." Anyway I enjoyed the interaction. Lots of camaraderie here.
  10. Kevin, you did an excellent job of discussing this. I'm going out to the shop now and do some measuring. Thank you.
  11. It's easy to just drill a hole.
  12. That is a great piece!
  13. The accessory does get in the way. My Lock-Line blower is on a swing arm. My light is pretty low and could be in the way if I took out the bolt. Thanks.
  14. That is very nice cutting! Since there is a lot of veining I'm wondering what blade you used for it.
  15. I don't want to hijack a thread so I'm starting over. There is a discussion about the Hegner boss that prevents the upper arm from lifting too high. A solution was to cut the boss from the casting and drill and tap for a lower boss. The Hawk has a boss but not cast as part of the frame. It is just a 1/4-20 bolt with a rubber tubing over it to provide a cushion. I'm cutting a pattern that needs #60 drill holes. I'm using a #1 blade and am frustrated trying to thread the holes. I can drill a new hole and replace the boss lower. Have any of the Hawk owners here done this? I don't want to buy another saw to top feed.
  16. That is a great idea!
  17. Perhaps it is something called veining if I understand your question. Fine lines are cut with a small blade. Some scrollers use a small spiral blade to make the fine line a little more noticeable. Not being a wordsmith someone may explain it better.
  18. Might be easier to just buy the clock.
  19. Got to say that on my Hawk bottom feeding on larger pieces with #60 drilled holes it is no picnic.
  20. I made my first order to Ocooch. Should be spelled OUCH to be accurate. I'm not complaining about the prices but just the price of wood in general. I live about 25 miles from Woodcraft and there are no bargains there. One a month they have a sale on a couple of varieties of wood and if I am in the neighborhood I will purchase some. I get my 1/8 and 1/4 inch BB there but I just usually go to Lowe's or HD and satisfy myself with Poplar and Oak. Living on a fixed income causes me to be judicious in my spending.
  21. Love that pattern! I just now ordered it and downloaded it. Tomorrow I go to Office Depot and have it copied in red and start cutting.
  22. I love cats and that is a gorgeous pattern and excellent cutting!
  23. Looks great Dick. Will look even greater after painting. Too bad I won't see it.
  24. WOW! Looks great!
  25. My wife wouldn't know what it is being an inlander from Alberta, Canada. As a kid i don't ever remember having sea food of any kind at home. Your cutting great though!
