  1. I received my Diablo 50 tooth blade yesterday and mounted it today. Very smooth cutting. I did some cross cutting as well as ripping a board. I think my original Kobalt blade would have been fine except... When I bought the saw a couple of years ago I removed the riving knife. It was the weak part of the saw, made kind of poor. Then I started up the saw and heard a nasty noise. Turned off the saw and turned it on again and it ran smooth with no noise. Today when I changed blades I discovered a thick 2X2" piece of steel. It had been pretty badly scored by the blade. I think it must have been part of the riving device. I think that is why the original blade did not cut real well. I have not checked the old blade but I think it may be missing a couple of carbide tips. New blade came just in time
  2. Thanks for the photos. Do you use a clamp when cutting?
  3. Wow! 20 of them. It sure looks great.
  4. I have no idea Ray. I just say, "give it to me in red" and it is done. They have a lot of sophisticated equipment. They do not change it to red and grey. They just print it in red.
  5. I now still have the have the original cheap blade in my little Kobalt saw. 10". The greater the diameter the greater the surface speed. So while the motor goes at a constant speed the 10" blade will have a greater surface speed than a smaller blade. Same as on a lathe, mill, drill or saw. Perhaps the difference is negligible but it is still there. I'll continue to use my new 10" Diablo blade when it arrives to0morrow. No argument here. Just stating an opinion. But what the hell do know?
  6. I just take my patterns to an office supply store like Office Depot or Staples and have the patterns copied in red. Most of the time I have the patterns either enlarged or reduced to fit the material I have on hand. It's cheap or at least not very expensive. Red makes life so much easier for me.
  7. I'n not a fan of reptiles but you did an excellent job!
  8. Very nice cutting on a couple of cool patterns.
  9. Your patience is certainly worth it. It turned out great.
  10. Not only is the cutting great but the message is also great!
  11. That is not a shop. It's a FACTORY! Very well explained and very interesting. Love shop pictures.
  12. My Delta Uni-Saw had a HUGE belt drive motor. It did operate on 110V. The base was cast iron and had a door at the base of the cabinet to scoop out the sawdust. A Delta 1946 model. Parts are still available for it. As wonderful as that saw was I could not justify the space it took since I did very little with it. I guess I bought it from an old retired friend who wanted it to go to a good home. Two wheels had been placed on the back of the saw but still took two men and a small boy to move it around. To use it I would tug it out to the driveway. Pushing it back into the garage was another matter. I sold it two years ago and bought Lowe's little Kobalt saw with the collapsible base and wheels. Since scrolling I roll out that little bugger sometimes twice a day. Sometimes for just one little cut. It will not make fine boxes or make delicate cuts but it is convenient. Had I the room I would wish for my Delta again. I envy those with large shops.
  13. I just placed an order for that blade. I also have a lightweight saw. Lowe's Kobalt saw with the folding stand on wheels. I have been suffering along for over a year with original cheap blade. I also had a 1946 Dewalt Uni-saw. I had no need for such a saw. Cast iron base. Even on wheels it took some effort to wheel it out to the driveway. It also took more room than I had to spare. Once my motorcycle was gone my wife wanted her car in the garage. Go figure.
  14. Thanks. Many sites are pretty fussy. I like being on the right side of the law!
  15. Love all your cuttings but the fishing is my favorite. Did you paint it with a rattle can or air brush. Really good!
  16. Hi Brad. You have to be correct. If there were a problem Travis would have commented.
  17. I love 'em!
  18. Looks great. I love cats and reading too.
  19. Great pattern and wonderful cutting.
  20. That is very nice. Is it a scrolling project or a painting?
  21. WOW, you jump right in with a project. Very nice. Can you tell us about your saw and material?
  22. Great work! However, I was expecting a nice walleye or muskie.
  23. Great cutting. Love those three idiots!
  24. Your work is always so varied and interesting. I keep wondering where you get all those great patterns. You are the man!
