  1. Won't they need to have the board in hand to test it?
  2. The switch tests good. The pot functions as it should. There is continuity in the power cord to the pc. There is no current going to the output cable so the problem is in the pc board. I have no way to diagnose it.
  3. Not without a schematic. Someone with electronic experience could possibly but that's way beyond the scope of my intelligence. Many years ago, perhaps 60 or so, I used to do TV repair. I know nothing about solid state. But thanks for the suggestion.
  4. Looks like my $200 Hawk will be a $350 Hawk. I pulled the controller. The pot and switch are OK. Current flow is stopped somewhere in the pc board. Tomorrow I will switch controllers with the older Hawk for a dynamic testing to see if the controller works on the older saw. That will be the final test. If it does not work on the older saw I will have to spring for a new controller. Darn!
  5. I went to Wally World this AM to buy shelf liner which I did find. While there I bought a couple of 1/4" bamboo cutting boards. I don't know how well they will cut but they are inexpensive. I could not buy the same at Woodcraft the the same money. I cut nothing that deserves more than pine or BB plywood. It looks nice.
  6. Here is my system. I even got a chance to try my HF trim router.
  7. Hi Ray, I saw that Walmart today. There are two kinds removable or permanent. Which did you buy?
  8. This is what I have been using. I first used it on the drill press but have found I like it best on my lathe. Cheeeep too.
  9. 55 years here. And to the same woman!
  10. Prolific cutting. That's why you are Amazing!
  11. I'm impressed that's for sure!
  12. Great cutting. I love the kittens.
  13. Hi Ray, Actually I do have adequate light. I have a very bright led mounted on a shelf right next to the saw.
  14. Our lawn mower and leaf blower are battery operated. I always try to make things easy for my wife.
  15. I belong to another group in which that happened. I did not happen to me. However, there was an individual that told many new posters to look things up themselves, a rather caustic individual. He has not been a poster for quite a while. He may have been removed from the site. I have never found that here. This is the friendliest group I have found. Very, very laid back. Keep on asking.
  16. The progress is exciting. I'll bet you can hardly wait!
  17. Hi Iggy.I stopped in Walmart this morning. They have a hundred kinds of shelf liners but no Duck brand. There is a new Walmart super store nearby so I will try them. I may not live long enough to use one roll let alone $35 worth. I can order it from Walmart on line and do a store pick-up but it still has a shipping fee of over $5. It is available locally. I just have to check around. Again thanks for the info.
  18. I'm a mess also but an old mess. I cannot stand up for long. I have nephropathy in hands, feet and legs, therefore I have poor balance. I don't lean into the saw. I sit on a stool and the saw is elevated about three inches on casters. My face is close to the table. I only bend my neck and not my back. I can't scroll for long lengths of time because my attention span is about as long as my shoelace.
  19. Dang, I didn't get a light with mine. Mine does not have the articulated blower and neither does the one you posted. Just curious. I thought it was standard equipment. I just ordered one.
  20. Congratulations. A new tool is always exciting. Looks like you are getting off to a good start. If your wife enjoys your new hobby that is a real plus!
  21. Thanks Iggy. 3M 45 is $23.99 at Ace. I just ordered two from Amazon for $5.77 each and free Prime shipping. I order a lot from Amazon. This morning I came home from breakfast and drove right by Ace. Needing an Adhesive I turned in and made a purchase. Since the shelf liner did not work I used my painters tape. Back to Amazon for shelf liner.
  22. I'll try it once. If does not work for me out it goes. I use Ace Hdw. because it is very convenient and I know the people there. Good service too. Walking around a big box store looking for something and not finding a clerk wastes a lot of time. Also lots of walking does not work for me. The shelf liner I bought does not work. The adhesive on it won't stick to anything. Guess I'll go with Iggy's source if I can find it again.
  23. I charge only when the battery is totally dead. Then I leave the battery on the charger until needed again. There is always one battery in the charger.
  24. Beautiful cutting. Love your puzzles.
  25. I am so impressed! You must scroll like a "House on Fire!" Seems like you just started cutting it.
