  1. Nice find!
  2. I went to that site, it was very cool!
  3. I no longer use the blue tape. Easier to use some mineral spirits to take the pattern off if needed. I do use packing tape over top. I keep scotch tape nearby, just in case.
  4. I use a number 2 or 3. Go slow vinyl is brittle.
  5. If you do fretwork, go with the Seyco, or the Dewalt.
  6. I do have a square reader. it does not cost a lot to use it and, it does improve sales because most people don't carry cash anymore.
  7. If this makes you happy, it is fine. If you think you might try the craft show circuit, you have to consider the cost involved. I have tried a consignment store. They charged me a monthly fee plus a percentage of my sale. I think what you are doing is great!
  8. A jar, even a mason jar does not create an air tight seal. That happens during the canning process. Just a girls point of view.
  9. With my Dewalt, I got a foot switch and covered the on/off switch with packing tape. It is the best thing you can do with that saw.
  10. I saw in a spare bedroom. Ripped up the carpet, painted the floor. I have an Excalibur with dust collection. It works ok. I also have a sand flea, It also has dust collection. I am not obsessive about it, I don't hear any complaints from my husband. I am thinking about getting some of those large rubber squares to put on the floor to dampen the noise. My husband doesn't mind. I do sweep, vacuum, etc.
  11. I bought my EX 21 last year on sale. With a stand and footswitch for less than $1000.00
  12. # 1 is my favorite.
  13. The elm worked well. I want to get better before I tackle spiral blades again.
  14. I use flat blades. I used to use spiral, a good friend of mine told me to learn flat, they give a much better cut and finish. Now, I have a hard time with spiral.
  15. this giraffe is a Steve Good pattern on elm.
  16. ummm...Packing tape? I would put packing tape on the top and bottom of the piece. JMTC
  17. I was having a terrible time with my EX 21 and blade slippage. Yesterday I took the set screws and thumb screws out of the blade holders, Put everything in Denatured Alcohol and wiped them off. They were very dirty. I then rubbed the faces of them on some sandpaper and reinstalled. It is much better now.
  18. Don't forget the router base for the dremel
  19. I have been using danish oil. Sometimes mineral oil or lemon oil
  20. I worry about the BLO getting into the fretwork areas and getting gummy. Then you get to have a dust magnet.
  21. I have the dremel drill press, and plunge router base. I also have a foot switch hooked to my dremel detail sander. I am currently wanting a third foot switch. I think I like footswitches.
  22. My husband and I moved to North Carolina in 2007. Before that we were born and raised in North East Ohio. I started woodworking soon after my last child left home. My kids ended up in North Carolina because of jobs. This is where we retired and I couldn't be happier. I have built many different things, Scrolling is my favorite. I don't build much else unless I need to anymore. My scroll saw is an EX 21. We ripped the carpet out of one of the spare room and put my saw in there. I love being able to scroll no matter the weather. My shop outside is not heated or air conditioned. My saw is hooked up to a dust collector. My name is Roberta.
