    I recognize that book. I have done a few of the boxes. But…I am easily distracted.

    I bought them from Steve. 1/8” BB plywood. One inch round. I found a laser engraving service locally and took her a sheet I had from Steve. Explained that he died. She changed it a bit. Gave me a price. I picked it up. Worked well.

    Just as an FYI. A person in our scrolling club cut these out of 3/4” and cut the design on the scroll saw before turning as an experiment. They turned out pretty good!

    I have the separator thing attached to one leg of my saw. The top hose is fastened to the saw arm with wire ties. And to the blower with a rubber band. I have the bottom hose attached to the bottom of the table with a magnet on the holder.

    I am a top feeder. My fingers know how to fasten the blade in the clamp. For the large fretwork pieces, it’s just easier.

    This was one of the most difficult fretwork portraits I ever did. It’s also one of my favorites!

    Just so the set screw and thumb screw meet in the center. It’s not rocket science.

    The corn is probably painted. I used to make a lot of those. Especially holiday decorations. It got too much. I was needing to buy a large shed to store them! i got rid of them.

    I purchased a Hawk a few months ago. I don’t like it. At All! Top feeding is easy. It goes down into the bottom clamp easy. Just have to tighten the thumb screw. My problem was after everything is ready, tension is perfect, turn it on and…the blade pops out of the top clamp. It’s outside in the garage. Someone want it? $200 would please me.

    I drilled a hole in a 1/4” piece of wood and this is where I screw in my thumb screw to be sure it is straight and flat when I sand the end. The sandpaper I use is attached to a flat surface as well. If you put a hex key in the set screw to hold it straight you can sand it as well.

    I believe The Hawk does, however have closed end blade clamps.

    As long as your scroll saw takes pinless blades the 6” should be fine. MOST blade holders don’t have a positive stop in them. Scroll saws also allow you to tilt the table.
