  1. That truck is looking pretty good!
  2. I made this for my granddaughter’s Baby Shower. Definitely a celebration! The Baby’s name is Allison. A great Granddaughter!
  3. I have NOT attempted that candle holder. I have made that clock in the original size. Those tiny ornaments on the shelves are challenging! I have had the opportunity to meet and work along side Tyler, The Artisan Pirate, he is just as amazing in person!
  4. Beautiful dog!
  5. Thanks! I agree that sometimes people need a reminder.
  6. I think they are amazing!
  7. I got a Hawk a few months ago at an incredible price. I hated it! I could NOT understand the blade clamps! Then, eventually after trying every day for almost 2 months, it clicked! I am a top feeder. It works perfectly! Just guide the blade into the hole with my thumb! Getting the tension right was the hard part.
  8. Marge, I have taught a few scroll saw classes. I use The Scroll Saw Workbook. I bring it and have everyone look it over. It has some simple lines, (Straight, curved, and curly). Then there are three relatively simple pieces to cut, a cat, a fish and a butterfly. I also bring some Steve Good cell phone stands and patterns. I have the lines ready to cut prepped on 1/4” plywood. I bring an Amazon box as a spray box. Patterns, blades, spray sandpaper etc. I demonstrate cutting, I will also demonstrate spraying and removing patterns. Steve Good has some simple patterns. I also go over basic maintenance.
  9. This really surprises me! It looked extremely aggressive! I would be afraid to try it!
  10. I was thinking that a Scroll Saw would shake it apart.
  11. This one that’s been “On the bench” for a couple of years is finally finished! Steve Good design. IMG_2406.mov
  12. Way back when painted country crafts was a thing I started my wood crafting. Took painting classes. I learned that oil based finishes darken your piece. Wood or paint will darken with oil. You can purchase water based finishes. Water based polyurethane is Polycrylic. There is also a quart of water based varnish in my finish cabinet. I don’t do much intarsia, it’s what I use when I do.
  13. Steve Good has a “Living Hinge Box”. The box walls are cut so it bends to make it a round box. I guess that’s what the design is called.
  14. Well, I ordered the bottle stopper blanks from Amazon so there will be a couple more.
  15. I understand, mine would not stay. I reset it multiple times. I just had a bad experience. I’m not sure I want to try another.
  16. I couldn’t help myself. I had to try!
  17. My EX had that tension thing on the back. Honestly, I hated that saw. The new Harbor Freight clone doesn’t even release the arm raise easily! went back to a Dewalt. I’m good.
  18. The state of my crazy…I am like that dog that sees a squirrel! I have a few things that I started and not finished. I am going to try to get these things finished before I begin again. I DO lead a monthly Scroll Saw Club. I already have a challenge peace for the month completed, it’s jewelry. So, let’s see if I can get some of these finished before the next club meeting. I also completed a candle holder for my general woodworking club challenge. OH! There is also that whirligig I started….
  19. It is a Diane Thompson pattern book. I can’t find that one right now. But, I believe it also had the apple and worm in it. I also made the mini grandfather clock that was in that one. FOUND IT! Compound Scroll Saw Creations. By Diana Thompson.
  20. I agree, something is wrong with your set up. I routinely have people practice on 1/4” plywood. Your blade is dull, backwards….
