  1. I did decorative painting back in the ‘80’s, early 90’s. alwAys seal the wood before painting. Sand the sealer smooth and repeat until your are happy with it and it’s ready to paint. I painted pine. Inexpensive and sands nice.
  2. I have planed them, be sure of your set up, no snipe, only take off the tiniest bit. Almost sanding…
  3. I use a skip tooth Pegas blade for thick cuts.
  4. My adult son’s dog died. It wasn’t unexpected, he had cancer. Still we all loved him. Sheila Landry design.
  5. Most scroll saws are similar. Can you show us a picture please?
  6. I take my finished pieces to Hobby Lobby or Michael’s, (whichever is having a sale) and get the frames there. There is usually someone in the frames department to assist, I can also get them matted. The frames are usually buy one, get one 50% off.
  7. I have a Delta 40-690. I suggest loosing the screw on the left side near the back of the arm just a bit. That will allow the arm to rest naturally.
  8. What type of pattern are you cutting? Blade choice is determined by pattern, wood type, and thickness. I don’t generally choose pine.
  9. I would buy it for that price!
  10. What is the name of the thing that rests under the black plastic to actually hold the arm?
  11. If you line the insert with heavy plastic, you should be ok. I don’t think you can put anything on treated lumber until it dries out.
  12. I have used deck stain on many outdoor projects including lawn and deck furniture. It works well and is easy to apply. I just reapplied it as needed.
  13. I use scraps for most of my ornaments. I don’t make many to sell. I use 1/8” and 1/4” Birch plywood and 1/4” scrap hardwood.
  14. Billy Joe is playing in my head…
  15. I would not paint the base.
  16. I use skip tooth blades. Blade choice depends on type of wood, wood thickness and pattern. So my answer is actually, it depends.
  17. I will look at that the next time we are in town. I would like the flex shaft part.
  18. I think someone was asking about this.
  19. I have made frames. Now, I just buy them at the craft store during a sale. Frame, mat, and glass or just frame and glass
  20. Then plain is the blade of choice.
  21. I frame mine under glass. Because I ain’t dusting that.
  22. Two questions: What saw do you have? What blades does it take, pin, plain, or both.
  23. If you’re going to buy the Pegas anyway, Go Big or Go Home!
