  1. Tony please post on some pictures if you can. Many years back we went to a outdoor art show there and really enjoyed that. If it wasn't 600 miles away I would drop by. LOL
  2. Very nice Don.
  3. Welcome Tony, Our daughter and her family live a farm in Forestville, NY. My wife is from Buffalo and we live in Randleman, NC. This is a great group.
  4. Beautiful work Barb. My wife and I too donate most of our work to non profits. In fact we now make two of just about everything we make. We donate to our local non profits to sell in their gift shops and/or fundraisers. We make at least two is because we get referrals which so share $$ with them. Great advertising, does some good, and saves us selling a craft shows.
  5. I use 77 on the pattern paper but before applying on the masking tape and found it pull away so I take some 400 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the tape. I think the better masking has a coating to prevent leaking through. I wipe away any grit left behind from the sanding. I don't have the pull away on the cheap tape.
  6. I have tried every kind of mask and/or respirator on the market other than a self contained system. The bottom line is; I just don't like them. So I try to do as much dust creating work outside with a floor standing fan at my back and a EZ Mask. As for the scroll sawing I do use a RZ Mask only because I need the lighting for my work.
  7. Nice display, good work. We too live in a small town, 25,000 pop. city, 125,000 total county and a $300 show is about average for us. We just moved here 5 yrs. ago.
  8. I didn't tell you at the time they were about $12 so that may of helped the sales too.
  9. Nice job on both. Good idea, will catch people attention as they walk or drive by. Maybe you will get the contract to do the whole street!!
  10. I talked with a manage at a Harbor Freight Store and he said HF corp. said that they estimate 80% of the their mini tool boxes were sold to women or purchased for women.
  11. I too have the stick. Took awhile to figure out the "search" part but once I did master it worked great. Lots of patterns there. I would advise anyone who does have one to get one.
  12. Dick, If you would like, just post more of your work and I will pass them off to my wife. WARNING! She is very critical at times.....she hates all of my work. LOL
  13. You did a great job. My wife is a professional artist/teacher and taught at Wake Forest University for many years. I showed your work to her and she was impressed she said "wonderful" which is a 9 out 0f 10 in her speak.
  14. I know this subject has been brought up many times, but I believe I have a new perspective to share. I apply masking tape to my wood and spray glue back of the the pattern then apply the pattern to the wood. Well, many times as I start my cutting the pattern has started to curl around the edges. So now before applying the glued-up pattern, I used 300-400 grit sandpaper on the tape. This just takes seconds, but the pattern stays in place a lot better. Seems like the higher priced tape is coated and doesn’t like the glue. I have used clear packing tape, but the LED lights in my shop reflects off it and bother my old eyes.
