I'm not intrested in a dewalt either. But that's no deal. Lowe's sells them for 489.00 every day. And Amazon even a little cheaper delivered to ur door. (Prime). I don't think stands are included tho. Not that rockler is way off on their price but it's no deal. Lol.
You can buy veneer and stack glue it opposite grain pattern (diy plywood) the advantage to this would be cost and u can get a very rich look from figured and exotic veneer for very cheap. Also a last resort option if you just can't find plywood.
Thank you so much for offering to send me. I was afraid u were going to say that.(that u used computer program) I hate anything computer related.I love computers but I'm terrible at working them. I don't have Corel if I download free trial would that work? If not I can try to use stencils and trace to paper. Probably will not be as neat and clean as program tho.
Thx again . I appreciate.:)
I made this for a friend of mine he likes bears. He feeds this one big male right out of his hand. I don't know if I would believe it but he showed me the videos. (I believed him anyway.)I know him good.
Oh. Ok so it's a bit of a fussy adjustment even when ur not worried if it sits proud ? I was thinking maybe you were trying to get the angle perfect to sit the inlay piece perfect flush. Any how It looks great. Maybe if u keep doing it Wright down the angle that works once you find it for the thickness of woods that worked for future reference. Hmmm? U probably have to know size of blade too. (Kerf)
Great job!! I think it looks great.
I don't do inlays but I have an understanding of the method. What I don't understand is fussing with the Angle like u mention. I hate to comment like this on something I don't have experience doing. But couldn't u just get the angle close and leave the inlay proud of the surface and then plan or sand flush and if ur worried about the back just do same but plan or sand to opposite piece.as long as it has an angle it's going to wedge in tight at some point.
Now I understand if the finish piece has to be exact thickness and flush on both sides can't do. But really even then If u start with extra thickness and then final thickness it down when ur done(drum sander would be great $$$) again I never did this so feel free to shut me up.
But it is something I plan on trying thx.
I think Danish oil is just a mix of blo, poly, and mineral spirits or another solvent. But in any case I agree let dry very good. And if there is any question u can always hit it with de wax shellac and then put whatever u want on it. Good luck and very nice job.
