  1. Welcome. I have been scrolling for close to 20 years and use Baltic birch for most projects. With sanding and some imagination with staining some great results can be achieved. From small to large projects. As shown here I find it becomes a Zen thing you, the saw and the wood i
  2. Welcome from soon to be cold North Dakota
  3. thanks everyone.... many of the patterns are from Alex Cross.... some from a pattern designer in Cairo and others I have picked up here and there
  4. thank you... greatly appreciated
  5. A few more layered projects. As I tell everyone, working in my shop keeps me off the streets at night
  6. About a year ago I lost my wife to complications with cancer. I took a few months off to get used to my new life ... shown are a few samples of some of the work I have been doing to get ready for some craft shows this fall. I have a variety of crosses and other layered items. I will be posting more items later .... I feels good to be making sawdust again.
  7. Greetings I strayed from doing a lot of scroll sawing and spent a good amount of time practicing pyrography, (wood Burning). I am back to the scroll saw and now trying to combine both skills.LAtely I have been making bowls/baskets. I am also finding layered patterns intriguing to cut. Alex Fox has a shop on Etsy for selling his patterns. also the Siberian Woodworker has a shop on Etsy for his patterns. I have purchased most of the patterns from each. I will post a few pictures of finished products from Alex Fox patterns. I have bowls cut but ot finished yet from the Siberian Woodworker...also posting bowl with the wood burning

    Excalibur EX-30

I have been using A Dewalt for over 14 years... last summer I purchased a new EX-30... great saw... I love the depth BUT ... i seem to have a bit of a problem installing blades... many times I tighten the bottom blade .. then when I insert the top blade in the clamp and tighten the lever the blade pulls out of the top clamp... unless I loosen the arm tension a bit.... is this normal with the EX saws?? Because of this I tend to gravitate back to my DeWalt for most of my sawing.... Maybe something I have to play around with some more
  9. Thanks Katie ... it was easy to cut ... a bit tricky to assemble but overall not bad. I did cut two ... this is the other one
  10. Katie I cut a couple of bowls using your pattern here is one of them thanks
  11. Thanks Katie... Interesting pattern .. will try it this week
  12. here are some pictures of bowls I have done looking for similar patterns in oval
  13. I have a number of basket patterns but they are all round... would like to find some oblong patterns. I have all the patterns by Alex Fox and many more round patterns
  14. Actually that might be The Little Princess ... Here are pictures of the other two... I hae done well with all three at craft shows
  15. Its the Little Sweetheart Clock ... also similar is the Sweetheart Junior and Little princess.... If you google those names and scroll saw patterns you should find them if you can not let me know .... I keep all originals and work off photo copies
