  4. Hello Fellow Scrollers, I have enrolled in a local fair and would like to make things for $5-$10 items and figured I can make jewelry and key chains. Anyone who has good patterns for these? I have a month to make my stock, I better start scrolling :-)
  5. Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I was going to try the distressed look finish. A few people in my firnd circle expressed interest. I messed up the legs on this one a lot and had to make hacks so will keep this for myself. Finishing has always been a huge challenge too. I will approach cake makers to see if this would be of interest too

  10. I have had huge breathing problems since i started scrolling. Both my asthma and allergies kick in a big way. I currently wear mask and eye glass and also clean my space out on a regular basis. I wish there was an economical way to collect it. I cannot imagine if my shop was i doors how i'd keep dust off.
  11. Thanks for the response everyone. I wanted to round off puzzle pieces (3/4 in) or other display (1/4in).
  12. Congratulations!! I have my shop in backyard under a canopy because our garage is backed with afew motorcycles and ton of my husbands garbage that he would never use, doesnt want to give up and he keeps collecting these things he'd never use. Anyway i would love to even get some garage space someday soon.
  13. I did something similar at my craft fair and worked great. I let them try any puzzle depending on the age of the kids. Kids LOVED. I had a kid solve a grownup puzzle so offered him that puzzle at no charge but he was so polite and dint take it because he had imagine that it was not easy to make :). His father dint want to just take it either and probably dint have money to spend. Here is the kid, they gave me permission to take the picture.
  14. Hi all, I am trying to hone my sanding skills in small art pieces and struggling to find sand edges to round them off. Any particular techniques that work for you? I will appreciate any information you can share. I currently use a belt sander for big sanding jobs i.e. even surfaces etc. I use dremel to remive fuzz from fretwork and i use hand sander for delicate fretwork or puzzles. I have used hand sander to round edges in puzzles but it never comes out nice and even :(
  15. Thank you everyone for the feedback and inspirationt o go for it. I had my first 3 hour art show at a school yesterday and it was very inspiring to let kids play with puzzles and tell me how much they love what I have done. I was informed that people dont carry too much cash for school shows. I think my lamps marked at $50 was too much for the crowd. Grownups were also amazed at the work I had done. Even though I only made $120 on puzzles, I got a lot of people asking me if I could do a few custom piece . I got feedback facebook from my first customer and how much they loved the puzzles. Attached are pictures of the table setup.
  16. I glue them together and then create a socket holder. I also line the cutting with graphix transparancy sheet or light gel filter cut to size. Attached are two images (one with light gel and other with raphix transparancy paper.
