  1. I have made 5 of these! Good pattern , excellent execution!
  2. I use two inflatable drums that work great, I picked up two and a stand cheap! new are pricey but money well spent!
  3. Don't sell yourself short, with the quality and experience you show, I would charge no less than $5.00 Per piece! That is what I charge and i am by no means getting rich! We create art that people are willing to pay for! By the time you figure material and wood , we are working for about 3 bucks an hour! as long as you tell people up front the amount of time you will have in the piece and the cost of material . I have had no issues with price! Be sure they understand the cost and get 1/2 down before you start!
  4. As long as you piece of wood is not completely surrounded by the adjoining piece , you can resaw it by running a #3 ur between them! google resawing with a scroll saw.. I believe Steve Good and Judy Roberts have tutorials on this technique! as far as glue bottles go , find a supplier with interchangeable tips, I use Stick Fast medium gel ! It's available on amazon They have about the best system out there with interchangeable tips! As far as fit goes, be sure you are letting your blade do its job, take twice as long to cut you will be done faster and twice as happy with your work! Enjoy your time behind the saw, it's a wonderful process, not a race!
  5. To sand really small pieces, I put a dot of cyanoacrylate on the back of it and attach to a larger manageable piece of scrap wood! it will readily pop apart with a knife point when done sanding!
  6. When cutting I always start in the middle and work out, or the eyes , if it is an animal!! when shaping I start with the piece the would appear to be closest to you!
  7. Beautiful work!
  8. Latest piece. Pattern by JGR. Butternut, Black Walnut, Aspen, Quilted Maple.
  9. Excellent! i am signed up for next September to take an intermediate class and plan on doing that exact piece! did you cut the inlays on an angle?
  10. My latest project. It is being donated to the Purple Heart Project, a charity to raise funds for veterans to attend a woodworking workshop. Any questions about the Purple Heart Project, I'd be happy to answer or point you in the right direction. Pattern by JGR. Woods are black walnut, poplar and ebonized walnut.
