  23. Mom's Handmade Birthday Gift, Tropical Palm Trees! The design is from the old Creative Woodworks And Crafts Magazines and I chose to make it using the segmentation method I attached the full size pattern with spray adhesive to a piece of 3/4 inch pine, then cut the overall shape out on my @rikon_powertools Scroll Saw, before releasing the individual pieces, I scribbled on the reverse side of the piece with a dark crayon so I would know what side was the face side. I then cut out all the individual pieces making sure to keep up with them all, then I peeled away all of the patterns and started sanding and shaping each piece with @klingsporswoodworkingshop sandpaper and rotary tools and my @ridgidpowertools spindle sander Once I was happy with the dry fit. It was time to start adding bright colors with @rustoleum spray paints The initial glue up of all the palm tree pieces was with medium grade CA Glue and Activator. After it was done, I wanted to do more so I got out a scrap piece of bead board and some scrap 2x4s and made a custom frame and background on my @rikon_powertools Table Saw and @craftsman router I made small sand dollar corner badges from 1/4 inch material on my @toocaa_official 20w Laser Engraver. The frame was glued with @thegorillagluecompany and after everything was dry and checked, I gave it a finish of several coats of @rustoleum clear gloss. I wrote a message to my Mom on the back with a sharpie as the project was too big to go in the laser. She absolutely loved this piece and cannot wait to display it in her kitchen! Happy Birthday Mom! Love You! . . #ArtisanPirate #scrollsaw #woodworking #handmade #palmtrees
