Just finished this lion portrait for a customer. This is the second lion, and the second portrait I have ever cut. Thanks to the tips you all gave me on the first lion, this one went much smoother, and I broke only a fraction of the blades I did on the first!

Thank you guys for your help. I think I’ll just stick to the EX clamps for now... maybe I’ll upgrade in the future, or when my current clamps wear out.

Hi guys, I’ve been considering purchasing Pegas blade clamps. Are they worth the price, or should I stick with my EX clamps till they wear out? Thanks

I did try flattening the ends on one blade, but I didn’t notice that it made a difference for me. I found it worked well to clamp the blade on a flat spot in the bottom clamp, then clamp the top clamp..... that way it would always line up on the flat spot in the bottom again.

Scruffydog, Two things seemed to help a lot. First I took apart my clamps, my bottom one seemed dry, so I oiled it. Also, since I was top feeding, I began by clamping the blade in the bottom clamp first, and then attaching it up top! This allowed me to pick a flat part to clamp in the bottom where I was always clamping and unclamping. Every time I fed the blade through, it would land at the same flat spot again, leading to much easier clamping, and less blade slippage and twisting. After these two things were changed, I only broke one blade!

I just finished this a few days ago. It was my first attempt with spiral blades, and I broke 18 blades grand total!! Towards the end though, I figured out what was happening, and didn’t break another blade! This was an extremely fun project, I am looking forward to do more with spirals in the future.

I removed the blade guard from my saw as well. It was always getting in the way!

I saw your Eiffel Tower project from 2018! Wow! that ls amazing!
I have been trying to buy an Eiffel Tower pattern from Pedro in Spain, but i cant get a hold of him
Do you have any ideas as to what i could do?

go to his site and click on 'patterns for sale'. The box is just under his the train at the top of the page. When you click on it, you will see a photo of a fruit basket that he is offering as a free download.
To the left of that, in the yellow box you will see a link where you go to order your plan. [email protected]the number for the Eiffel Tower plan is 006. You can see the number for the pattern by scrolling down to the second row of patterns, it is the second one from the left. If you still have problems text me again
