  1. Nice. NRA here as well. Was mainly interested in scroll saw or woodworking magazines. I should have put that in the title. Sorry!
  2. Any good scroll saw magazines out there? Or woodworking in general?
  3. Thanks!
  4. I got a friend that has requested a lighthouse pattern. “A lighthouse with a little background”. Anyone know of any free patterns out there? I showed him Steve Good’s patterns and he didn’t like it. I told him I’d keep looking. Not much out there for free!
  5. Thanks everyone!
  6. I redid the wolf and eagle in oak to match the Indian. Before they were poplar and I didn’t like the way it took the danish oil. Now they match and I’m much happier with the results.
  7. Black magic! Golly that’s amazing.
  8. Mine are blelow when I’m sitting. I’m more comfortable standing at the saw. But my saw is to low to be comfortable standing at it. So I sit.
  9. Is it a sea turtle? That’s amazing.
  10. Next yr at your booth - signed autographs!
  11. I wish I had the talent and know how to design my own patterns. Well done!
  12. I placed my order before I realized they were in Canada. It took about 2-3 weeks I’d guess. I won’t be ordering from them again simply because the shipping time is to long and the fact that I can order from a US supplier and get it quicker. After I realized they were in Canada I expected a long shipping time so I wasn’t disappointed at all with their website, or ordering process. It’s just why would I order from them and wait 2-3 weeks for something when I can get the same thing in half the time from someone else? Typically tracking numbers don’t work if it’s an international shipment. Not in my experience anyway.
  13. I did these Tuesday (Jan. 1). Can’t get much more “first” than that! The eagle feather is part of the 3 that Steve Good offers. I did the other two last year so had to do the 3rd to finish the set. I’m not at all pleased with how the Poplar takes the stain. Someone told me it’s better to paint Poplar. So I’m going to do the eagle and wolf again in Oak to match the Indian. The Love Wine was done from pallets. One is Sycamore the other is Oak, I think. Could be Pine, not sure. I know they were both hard to cut!. Dulled a blade or two on them. The Man Cave is scrap Luan 1/8” plywood. Not my favorite stuff either, won’t be buying that gain. So anyway, here they are!
  14. Very nice
  15. Awesome, thanks! Very nice job.
  16. Shoot that’s a good idea!
  17. Can you tell us what wood you used? How you got a sharp edge on them? Very nice!
  18. That’s great!
  19. Only 440 cuts? I did 5 tonight and thought “I’m almost done”. My hats off to you. That is epic.
  20. Brilliant. My grandpa would love that. He watches humming birds out his living room window.
  21. Wish I was that clever. Nice one!
  22. Here’s some stuff I did today. Gotta say, Poplar wood sucks. Doesn’t take the Danish oil well at all. Just gobbles it all up and turns in to a brown turd. I’m going to re-do the wolf and bird in Oak. So it matches the Indian, which looks a lot better IMO. The Indian and Wolf I did a couple weeks ago, the bird is new today. The “Love Wine” is from pallet planks that I pried loose and sanded. Not sure what wood they are but it’s tough as all get out. Typically pallets are made from Southern Yellow Pine or Oak. Might have one of each here. I’ve got plenty of pallet plants to use too. They are good for words it seems. Some are heat treated so would be good for anything really. Indoor/outdoor.The “Man Cave” is 1/8 plywood of some type, can’t remember. But it sucks too. Cuts like butter though, but flakes easy, very delicate. Won’t be getting that anymore. Somehow I gotta glue or pin or secure those two pieces together - Man & Cave
  23. Well, turns out his name is Finn. Shucks!
  24. Here’s some stuff I did today with pallet planks. I sanded them down. I think it is Pine. I read that most pallets are Southern Yellow Pine or Oak. Doesn’t look like Oak to me. Tough as nails to cut too. I think I’ll do a lot more with these since I have a bunch of pallets handy. Only thing is I’m size restricted. I like it better with the crooked BE. It’s creative!
  25. That’s cool. Well done.
