  1. I’ve got an old beater truck that I put new speakers in. Today I made speaker covers. Sketched it out in about 2 minutes. Spent about 10 cutting it out. Another 2 screwing them on. Badda bing. Speakers are protected! Literally did not care what they looked like since it’s an old beater - 1997 Ford Ranger. I’m the only one that drives it and it’s got a few other cosmetic issues. It’s just my “fun” truck do anything to truck. My goal was to get them cut and put on as quickly as I could. New Pioneer speakers and stereo are LOUD!
  2. Great stuff here! Thanks all!
  3. Thanks!
  4. Nice. NRA here as well. Was mainly interested in scroll saw or woodworking magazines. I should have put that in the title. Sorry!
  5. Any good scroll saw magazines out there? Or woodworking in general?
  6. Thanks!
  7. I got a friend that has requested a lighthouse pattern. “A lighthouse with a little background”. Anyone know of any free patterns out there? I showed him Steve Good’s patterns and he didn’t like it. I told him I’d keep looking. Not much out there for free!
  8. Thanks everyone!
  9. Good tip!
  10. Yeah i’ll Need a few different colors. And not much of each color. Red, orange, green, yellow, maybe black and brown. Because of the volume that I need i was thinking artist paint, like canvas paints. Plus they come in countless colors. But unsure of how they would do outside and what to protect them with.
  11. Hello All, I’m wanting to make some garden decorations out of pallets. I’ll be painting the wood with vegetables to mark where things are planted. It won’t be just a single coat of plain paint. It will be a vegetable design with multiple colors involved. So my questions are - 1. What paint is best for this? 2. What should I use to weather protect it. Like as a topcoat. Thank you!
  12. I redid the wolf and eagle in oak to match the Indian. Before they were poplar and I didn’t like the way it took the danish oil. Now they match and I’m much happier with the results.
  13. Finally got around to making the name. Now I gotta figure the best way to attach the letters.
  14. Black magic! Golly that’s amazing.
  15. Mine are blelow when I’m sitting. I’m more comfortable standing at the saw. But my saw is to low to be comfortable standing at it. So I sit.
  16. Is it a sea turtle? That’s amazing.
  17. Next yr at your booth - signed autographs!
  18. I wish I had the talent and know how to design my own patterns. Well done!
  19. I placed my order before I realized they were in Canada. It took about 2-3 weeks I’d guess. I won’t be ordering from them again simply because the shipping time is to long and the fact that I can order from a US supplier and get it quicker. After I realized they were in Canada I expected a long shipping time so I wasn’t disappointed at all with their website, or ordering process. It’s just why would I order from them and wait 2-3 weeks for something when I can get the same thing in half the time from someone else? Typically tracking numbers don’t work if it’s an international shipment. Not in my experience anyway.
  20. I did these Tuesday (Jan. 1). Can’t get much more “first” than that! The eagle feather is part of the 3 that Steve Good offers. I did the other two last year so had to do the 3rd to finish the set. I’m not at all pleased with how the Poplar takes the stain. Someone told me it’s better to paint Poplar. So I’m going to do the eagle and wolf again in Oak to match the Indian. The Love Wine was done from pallets. One is Sycamore the other is Oak, I think. Could be Pine, not sure. I know they were both hard to cut!. Dulled a blade or two on them. The Man Cave is scrap Luan 1/8” plywood. Not my favorite stuff either, won’t be buying that gain. So anyway, here they are!
  21. Very nice
  22. That’s a good idea Wayne. Different color letters for the girls names would be playful
  23. Thank you Don. I must learn these techniques!
  24. Those would work just fine! Thank you! Do you mind sharing what program you used and how you did it? If it’s to much to type no worries. How do you suggest I connect the letters ? Or would it look better as individual letters?
  25. Hello All, I need some help with a pattern request. I'd like to give my friends their name as a gift. Along the designs of this from Steve Good: Here's my take on it, sorry for the crummy photo So I'd like it to be similar to this. I have 1/2"x6"x4' Oak available. I also have Birch plywood. So I'm thinking the names from the Oak and the back outline from Birch. I'm not picky on the font except to say nothing "blocky". Somewhat fancy, but not over the top. I'm sure they will be happy with anything really. I was thinking just making one piece: The Dee Family But also, perhaps their individual names so they can put them around the house (like the kids rooms maybe) or a wall piece. Anthony , Shanna, Allison, Natalie, Aussie, Raven. Gotta do the pets too! haha. If I'm requesting to much here with the individual names then simply The Dee Family will be perfect. Thank you all so much!!
