cashew started following cutting 1/4" baltic ply , I'm Back Baby! , A pile of Junk and 4 others
-
I started scrolling 4 years ago - but life happened and I had to stop for the last 2 years. My first machine was a Ryobi, which was great to learn on, and it paid for my upgrade to a Pegas. I'm in love with it all over again. This is my first piece back into this, a birthday present. It took 5 days start to finish. The color differences in the bare wood only show up with the flash on the camera The wood is all Baltic Birch plywood - 3/4 for rim, 1/8 for main body and 1/4 for lettering and the heart

I made a big pile of Junk --and they love it! 25 x 18 overall I started with a 5 stack of 1/8 baltic cut with #5 and 3 Pegas mg blades to cut the junk pile -- the black is 3/8 and the letters 1/8 That pile thoroughly intimidated me from start to finish but it came out fairly close to my idea

I bought a 20 inch mini pool ball set and used that for the cues - rack - and balls. Then I sanded a small flat spot for more surface for the e6000

Thank you sir -- it was about a week of planning back and forth with the customer-- then 4 days in execution
-
Don't sell yourself short -- 2 years ago I had never heard of a scroll saw
-
Challenge accepted -- Nailed it I believe 30 x 40 overall - all in 1/4 and 3/8 Baltic birch except frame. All cut with a #3 modified geometry. Learned some new things to add to my arsenal - always a good thing!! Sorry haven't been on here much -- spend most of my time with this work and grand littles
-
It's a logo for this guys company -- I think he's an independent insurance broker
-
My latest piece just Delivered to it's new home -- All 3/8 Baltic Birch cut with a #1 modified geometry -- a little over 2 feet from nose to shield tip (The whole time I worked on it I thought it was to hang sideways but found out it sits on the tip) -- Funny story -- 2 guys showed up looking to sell insurance to my roommate -- a week later they're picking this up
-
Nice work!! With 1/8 I usually stack 4 cuz it's easier to control with the extra resistance (even if I don't need that many) -- and #1 mg are my go to blades most of the time -- That looks like one of those designed for a laser cutter so kudos for being bold enough to attempt it since some of those pieces look like they'll be a delicate process separating
-
It's theirs -- I just sorta pulled it into 3d
-
2 of them packaged and wrapped hit 45 pounds

A month in the making -- 4 of these bad boys finally accomplished and shipped. Approx 43 x 31 overall Made mostly from 3/4 Baltic Birch (except backing 1/4- frame 1/4 poplar- and lettering 3/8 on 1/4 on 1/8 back). Shaping done with a Dremel All cut with #1 and 3 modified geometry 20201019_171503.mp4

If you're buying it from home depot you're getting Birch -- not Baltic Birch -- HD and Lowes don't carry Baltic or Russian Birch. HD plywood is a lower grade and may be part of the reason for the tear out
