Kevin common sense has to be prevail here am not being nasty in anyway but seriously get a grip, put your heath and safety first without your health you have nothing if its a fire hazard REMOVE IT, everyone of us have them wee bits of wood we keep thinking 'oh i could use that one day' get a friend in someone who will be honest tell you the truth about what to get rid of, someone looking from an outside opinion will always see thing differently. But fire regulations are there for a reason consider if there was a fire can you get out fast, what chemicals are you storing, who else would a fire in your place affect, are your smoke alarms working in the right places, as mentioned if you have sprinklers DON'T have anything near them or they are useless can't spray if they are blocked, all these things are there for a reason take heed it could save your life, ok rant over, and sort out your plugs it might be convient for you but doesn't mean its safe to do mate, i have dealt with fire regulations for 12 years you don't get a second chance with fire, it might be hard throwing away some wood away but if you have a fire you have NOTHING so lose some before you have none keep that in mind at all times and stay safe mate
