  1. Love the PP! Well done. I am curious though. Could you elaborate on the equipment/method you use to make the frames? They always look good and I'd like to try it. Good luck on the surgery. Hope all goes well! Steve
  2. I really like the theme you've chosen. The execution is exceptional. Thanks for sharing. Steve
  3. That's my first scroll saw but I think mine was labelled "Craftsman". Nice video. Steve
  4. Really impressive! Love the aircraft topic.
  5. I'm with Rockytime. I miss the ease of getting to the forums since I don't visit them all. Change for the sake of change is not in my playbook. The new look is OK but keep the forums tab on the top page for those that want it. Just my $.02. Steve
  6. Thanks for the reply. I actually have used four coats of blond shellac, dipped and dried. Multiple sprayed coats of lacquer, same result. Haven't tried poly yet, so it's next.
  7. Hello. I am doing some 3D ornaments and birdhouses. I've used walnut, red oak, cherry, maple, and butternut so far and they seal and finish fine with both shellac and lacquer. My issue is; I cannot get basswood to do anything but soak up the finish, no sheen, no shine, nothing. Does anyone have success finishing basswood? Thanks, Steve
  8. That is one nice project! WOW!
  9. Fantastic rendition! Love these topics.
  10. I like it but then I'm an airplane hobbyist! Nice cutting.
  11. Thanks for the replies.
  12. Couple of beginner questions. When cutting a vein in a project do you change blade size? Second and probably more important, when you end a vein cut how do you extricate the blade? Back it out or stop and remove the blade? Thanks for your time. Steve
  13. Just to add. When I need increased open time for repeat positioning when making model airplanes I prefer 30 minute epoxy. LOL, I've used most of those glues. Guess I'm a collector of sorts.
  14. Hairy and needs a manicure!
  15. I think I would stick with a drop of thin CA and light clamping until it sets. Just my $.02. Steve
  16. Got mine yesterday. It is bright and works well. Thanks for the tip.
  17. Thanks for the headsup.
  18. Thank you, Travis.
  19. I used a 2 inch ball valve modified to accept a 2 1/2 inch 'Y' fitting. I them spliced it into the 2 1/2 inch dust collector hose. Works good to reduce the vacuum at the 1 1/8 inch hose at the scrollsaw. No bucket collapse! On to the next dust issue, my drill press and dust from a mop sander.
  20. WOW! Fantastic creativity here. No pics yet.
  21. Yes, a politics free zone! Hooray
  22. Thanks for the information. Delta has been my go to woodworking tool line. But I have several Dewalt power tools also. Maybe that Delta SS is in my future.
  23. Very nice cuttings! I've got a ways to go!
