  1. Heres saws that are demos, trade ins and repairs. Fun stuff!
  2. A couple saws started off fast then slowed down to speed. Couldn't get them to run smooth like I remember the Hegner I used to borrow time on. And forgot about what a pain the lower blade clamps were because you have to line up the blade and pull out slightly so the screw doesn’t twist it out of position and believe me it really does. Another are the parts. The clamp system stuff just seems outdated. Yea they paved the way to revolutionize the industry but you need 3 different sized blade holders $25 a pop to hold all the blades you would use from 2 to 12. If you want a quick release for the blade its an additional $35. Bellow should you need to replace them are $45 and more plastic than rubber. There are not two risers in the back just one. I could not find a sweet apot on the saws and the tables are still tiny. Even smaller now on the 14” than the older version. The 25” and polycut 3 had bigger tables though. I may buy one just to have it around to make videos with for others to see. The polycut 3 was a disaster when it came to changing speeds lol if anyone decides to get the polycut 3 to blast out puzzles all day it will totally crush it day in day out. It is violent and i would bolt it to the floor for sure
  3. I didn’t buy one. There was a ton of really nice rebuilt ones but I couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted. Too many cool choices. They even hd 2 25” saws, a Hegner lathe, an Mk4, TSW230. Tons of fun stuff. There are just a few things about the Hegners that I forgot about which is why I haven’t bought any and went with the Hawk, EX and scrollmates.
  4. Didn’t that belt drive hawk have a huge. 1 1/8 inch stroke? I have lots of Hawks. I mainly like the scrollmate the ex and Hawk saws. I kinda like Hegner too just not as much.
  5. As long as the hawks keep being quality and parts are available it will always have a spot in my shop. The hegners didn’t run very good today. I didn’t buy any.
  6. He’s around. I didn’t get a picture. I asked. But look how little this 14” is
  7. Thats Barbara. She is super nice. Thats a little room lol Thats why its so loud. They showed me how they make blades and stuff there. Very very nice people. Very detail oriented as well. And organized.
  8. the demonstration doesn't really show it very well and in that demonstration the saw seems loud and its not the room is just empty and small and the camera microphone picks up everything. There is a better video out there but the person operating the saw lets the wood chatter a bit. It doesn’t show the release and tension process though. I will post the video on here. Its more realistic on noise level. And the camera is mounted directly to the table so you can see how smooth it is. Eventually your gonna have to come visit and play with it. It has its quirks for certain stuff just like every other saw. But thats why you buy one of each kind and a couple back ups lol
  9. No they are not going to sell.
  10. Ill see if I can take a picture with him and the team or something. Make it less awkward.
  11. I am curious. Whats everyones choice of color for their dream saw? For me it might just be a very bright high gloss teal more on the blue side for a powder coat finish or two part epoxy finish. A little on the thick side of course and a touch up bottle or pen to match. If I were to anodize maybe a candy apple red but slightly transparent or a bright like green. I may even add some fun led lights for some under glow effect to get through those more depressing weather days!
  12. Belt change is as easy as simply putting the belt on. Changing the speeds is as easy as just pushing over on the belt. There are two belts both just go on and off but are different. There is a ribbed v belt style from the motor to the first pulley where it transfers full torque to a round urethane which you push over to change speeds. And honestly if you leave it on 1150 spm thats more than adequate for most everything. Especially with the right blade and the large stroke of the machine. Its smooth smooth smooth. But you can definitely feel the power when your cutting. Its a fun toy.
  13. That would be awkward haha.
  14. Its very user friendly. More than you think. If you had a chance to sot down on one for a week you would develop your rythmn with it. They are updating something on the upper head to make it even better or easier or lighter or something. I know when I have blade holders ready to go its much faster than any of my hawks or the EX or Dewalt. I really want (if they let me) buy the rights and make a few changes and cnc machine the whole saw out of billet. I will say this. The fit and finish of my scrollmate from ps wood is flawless. Its literally perfect. No machine marks, chipped paint or anything.
  15. Part #41 for the Fasco motor problems. You'll know when it goes out the acid will burn your sniffer. https://www.pswood.com/all-21-parts/
  16. Because it has that ac fasco on it maybe $400. If had a DC motor on it given the shape its in and the extra stuff you have $900. I have a fasco on another belt driven saw and its awesome. It gets hot but its awesome. AC motors don’t like induced drag imposed on them woth rheostats etc. I think you should keep it and swap the motor and controller if you can. Plus the capacitor for that motor if you ever need it is super easy to swap and can be found at ps wood for a great price. I think the misconception out there is that those saws with that motor start jumping around because of the motor controller etc. I think its because of the capacitor going out causing a fluctuation in current and voltage. Its a good saw and can always be your backup. Keep it man. You will be goad you did.
  17. I have an idea but its a lot of work. Garage sales and estate sales. Someone out there has it buried in a box.
  18. Theartfactory.com and PSwood used to have some and cherry tree toys I think has the cuckoo clocks.
  19. As a younger guy in the aerospace field I see all the seasoned guys over the age of 60 getting bad cancers and organ failures from acetone and mineral spirits being absorbed through their skin. Please wear gloves, use pliers etc so you stay healthy and lower your risk.
  20. looks like the base has rubber feet and maybe there are through holes so you can put it in the basement compartment. And if you have one slider job in your basement you can cover that with wood and bolt your toys down and sit under your awning somewhere gorgeous and warm and scroll. Then push it back in effortlessly when your done. That would be really neat. https://wenproducts.com/collections/power-tools/products/wen-ll2156-21-inch-1-6-amp-variable-speed-parallel-arm-scroll-saw-with-extra-large-dual-bevel-steel-table
  21. The Deltas can be quite heavy. If you find a Q3 though it has those clamps on the top and bottom of that c arm. And its a composite arm which is really cool. I gave one to a friend and he found a bellows for it and loves it. I do like a good C arm saw sometimes myself. I kinda like saws in general....I wonder if those blade clamps can be reintroduced under a new manufacturer and seller since its been so long since they have been produced.
  22. Your hilarious! . I could use a good coping saw. I had an interest in a knew fret saw but they quit anodizing and quit removing tool chatter in the truss system frame. It kinda matches out hawks. You can get one then use it to build its own cool case and flock it and then maybe do it times two and the other one can have a bow on it and my name on it. Lol. I kinda wonder how the super sharps blades would do in a saw like that. Your taking me down a rabbit hole....
  23. After I purchase a new home with a shop and get all my saws installed plus a few lol I would have to invite everyone to come and try them all for fun. Make some good food check out Maine and eat some lobster rolls and play with some fun toys. Call it scrollervention
