  1. Hi all. I am open to trading some Hawks for some hegners and a 30” King with pegas chucks. Saws must be factory condition no modifications no aftermarket or self made parts. My Hawks are in excellent near new condition and need nothing. The air hoses have been upgraded to the new locline styles so the Hawks don’t blow the sawdust in your face as they came from the factory that way back in the day just like the older Hegners. Looking for a Hegner 22V, 18SE, Multicut 3 (24” throat) and a Polycut 3.
  2. Found some Steve Good patterns I enjoyed making. I used a Hawk 226. And an EX30 for the candle holder
  3. Do you have any purple EX with the Dewalt style tension lever? Also. Hegner does make a lower stand. But it costs more than the tall one.
  4. Also something to note Klingspore has preval spray kits no air compressor needed. I use them on airplanes, helicopters missiles etc for priming stuff and they work great. I even used them on some parts for the Orion
  5. Ditch the Krylon brand and use shellac or deft and when your done using them turn the can upside down and spray it til the tip cleans off. It helps to also manually clean the tip front after with mineral spirits before you put it away.
  6. Thats why I didn’t buy one when I went to check out advanced machinery on my visit there. Parts were insane and even a new bellows is more plastic than rubber. You could always wait on a bellows. My old black and decker when I was seven didn't have anything lol For paint Kubota Orange in a can should match depending on the age. If its older and the hose is mounted on the upper arm then its just gonna blow it all in your face. Unless you create your own locline assembly. Ps wood carries affordable loc line hoses. So does bushton. Just remember some of those older hegners are not engineered for running with some stuff like the comfort knob etc. If you ever do get your bellows just turn the hose upward so it gives you cool air on a hot day lol let me know down the road how you like your hegner.
  7. Its a good saw . It is hard to find a bad saw anymore.
  8. Exactly My hero. Lol
  9. Let me rephrase. Instead of using the term push perhaps i should have said rock which is a natural motion of your ankle and is the exact same operation as the standard pedals. This pedal is just like driving your car. Maintaining speed should not be a problem for most. So your saw does not need to be turned on and off by hand just by the foot switch. Same as all the other saws. Whether you take your foot off is up to you.
  10. When the electronic foot pedal is added there is no dial on the saw. You push the pedal where you want the speed and can remove your foot for comfort and the saw will remain at the same speed until you push the pedal back to the off position. Neat for those big big runs like a giant dinosaur spine.
  11. The video states that you can set the speed variably anywhere from slow to fast and once the speed is achieved you can remove your foot and the saw will maintain the speed you choose with the pedal
  12. But can you put in either. 1/4” 6 tooth blade or use your 1/8” blade and see if it will compound cut a cedar 4x4?
  13. Thanks for posting this I was looking at this bandsaw and their newer scrollsaw last night. My hawk is taking forever to get made and shipped and bandsaws are a few months from shipping. And this one has a little dust collection drawer at the bottom and that was one big thing that sold me on it. I don’t plan on using dust collection more than 115 cfm so that will help me quite a bit.
  14. Its on Hegners website. But here is a video WWW.HEGNER.COM It is not in USA.
  15. Actually, it is a thing. 4-5 years ago Hegner came out with what they call in english the electronic foot pedal. The dial is not available and all the speed control is done by the pedal and you can set it and forget it if you wish. The speed will remain until you push the pedal back to an open contact. Pegas a few years ago came out with it as well. Its only in europe.
  16. If you really wanna lube it up use turbine oil. Its very thin, very clean, clear oil and spreads and coats surfaces very well. You can use sewing machine oil too. It will attract sawdust
  17. Go with your gut. The pegas is an excellent choice. The blade aggression can be controlled by rotating the motor in the back and setting the arm how you want it. It is built more solid than a dewalt and can clear dust better and the arm stays up easier. Both are actually really nice. But the Pegas is a lot more robust. If your going around town and doing actual scroll work for homes and doing the thicker woods then you want the dewalt for that. Thats the only reason I keep my Dewalt around. I honestly think the Dewalt was meant to be a top feeding saw and thats why the arm doesn’t stay up. If your going to do very very delicate work like scrolling portraits then you want the pegas. The dewalt is a very aggressive fast cutting saw and it cannot be changed which is outstanding for puzzles and exterior scroll work. Both also have very light blade chucks and are easy to put a blade in. The dewalt table will rust the Pegas will not so less maintenance.
  18. Comfort at the saw is important right? A few years ago i worked with a company called ssc to help me modify a tig welding foot pedal to be a momentary contact switch with a short throw. I got one and love it. It sits a lot taller than those little ones and fits your whole foot. Want a herl rest? No problem you can get one of those on it too. When I purchased it I may have paid around $65 for it and to me it was worth it. I would love to see what everyone else has done to their foot pedals to be more comfortable or sit higher or whatever creative thing they have done.
  19. Here is the place to find the manual. just click this link and choose your saw http://www.bushtonmanufacturing.com/WebsitePages/Scroll-Saw-Manuals.html
  20. You can download the manual on the bushton site for all saws. If not if it is an ultra series saw i can take pictures of mine and put it into a link where you just have to click and print your self a manual.
  21. lol no. No modifications! I’ll live. The only saw i have that pops up violent is my ps wood. When that arm comes up look out!
  22. I keep telling you don’t get rid of it. lol you will miss it. I just hope with those long arms on my 26 itll go up high. I like that with the blade coming forward its easier
  23. Its a little more loud because of the phone. It is almost as loud as an old Delta 40-601. IMG_4736.MOV
  24. I've replaced a bellows on an old ac motor hawk. But only one so far because its good rubber. And one scrollmate because it hd been sitting for a long time. The new hawk arms dont go up as high as my ultra series?
