    Very interesting project. It looks like the octagon parts are end grain glued. My experience with end grain glue joints has not been good. I'm wondering how you glued them to get a strong joint.

    Rolf - my saw is a Hegner 22 Denny - if you buy the book the patterns are printed so close into the binding that you may have to cut the binding off to make the copies to use as patterns.

    from the top pic - Walnut 1/4" next 2 - Mahogany 1/4" Padauk 1/4" Cherry 3/8". ( the table it is on is Cherry that was purchased in the early 1970's It was almost that dark when I bought it. Have not been able to find Cherry like that in 20+ years.) Pegas #3 MG blades for all except a 2/0 skip for some of the tiny holes in the bottom one. I did not count the holes in the bottom one - think I might find that somewhat depressing.

    In some older homes dinning rooms there is a molding strip on the wall at the height of the back to prevent the chair back from damaging the lath & plaster wall. Hence, "Chair Rail Molding"

    The print dialog on my Mac allows me to adjust the print size of a PDF by percent so it's not necessary to go to a Office Depot or similar. Would assume that Windows may have the same option.

    Perhaps your question is young in cheek but someone else had the same comment. The title of the does lead one to that question but is is scroll saw patters for circular items such as trivets, plaques and coasters.

    Received this book today and there are many patters in it I like and I'm sure I will make most BUT Fox Chapel's printing of this book Absolutely SUCKS. Most of the patterns are printed so near into the binding that it is impossible to either scan to .PDF or use a copy machine. I will have to cut out each pattern separately or cut off about an 1/8" of the entire binding edge to gat a usable pattern. I don't buy books to cut up and this the last Fox Chapel book I will purchase.

    Is she referring to a fuse in the saw or a fuse in the circuit breaker to which the power cord is connected?
