  1. I’m using it on Baltic Birch Plywood, staying South Africa Danish Oil is expensive here and I must find a suitable replacement.
  2. Having read all the post about finishing process, I tried the recommended BLO and Mineral Spirits 50/50 mix and am quite impressed with the finish, I do however have a question for my scroll saw friends what can I add to this mix to darken it to a more Golden Color, almost like the Danish Golden Oak Oil which has become ridiculously expensive here.
  3. That’s a plan, thanks.
  4. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Yip, still haven’t got my prize despite me given them a very amicable solution, that’s a win win for both of us, they don’t reply to emails, so I guess that’s over, won’t enter again.

  7. The courier fees and our corrupt governments import duties is twice the cost of the blades.
  8. No just totally ignorant, I gave him a complete list of the recommended blades he should stock, just not interested, our scroll saw community is so small that he only ordered blades one a year, what’s going to happen now with him closing his second branch that has been around for many, many years, who knows.
  9. We only have normal FD#1 blades, he did not import the smaller blades, concentrated on #3 and up.
  10. So you have read that we have a blade supply problem in our country, resulting in me going one up in size to a FD#1 blade ( that’s all we can get here) but during cutting today I noticed that on a tight inside corner I was getting some break out on the bottom piece of my double stack, how do I prevent this? I have read on the web that you can tape a cardboard board to the back as a backer to prevent this, but surely this will help, won’t this additional board cause the blade to loose its sharpness quickly. My thoughts are to use the painters tape I use for the front just to use it on the back as well would that work? I have slowed the speed just a touch and slowed my feed rate as well, but doing these Fretwork Complex Patterns there is a lot of tight corners and I don’t want to spend my time fixing these breakouts.
  11. Sad as it may be, our importer knows nothing about scroll saw work, it was all his fathers doing, but when he passed away the son took over and the business is on a slow decline.
  12. Yip sadly all state owned entities are falling apart, the problem is if you don’t do maintenance on the infrastructure for thirty years it will fall apart. All foreign aid given to them by the rich countries disappears into their pockets, we have a name for it it’s called the “Self Enrichment Program” line their pockets and the rest can go fly a kite.
  13. Wooden Teddy Bear have told me that #0 Blades would be a special import for them as it’s not a stock item. (for now I can still get #1 blades but am concerned that they will not be able to handle the tight inside corners of the Fretwork Complex work I do). UPS is totally inflexible with their courier fees into our country. We can’t buy Seyco, Pegasus and de Walt Scroll Saws in our country ( well let me correct that statement you can if you are prepared to pay three times the value of the saw, for instance a 21” Pegasus saw would cost us about $3000 which includes courier and import duties could be more). Furthermore all state owned entities i.e. postal Service, Airline, Rail, Water Supply etc. is is in a state of collapse due this communistic corrupt government
  14. Our mail system has collapsed just like every other state owned entity in this country, this is due to a communist corrupt government.
  15. I have been thrown a curve ball, our sole importer if Niqua/Flying Dutchman scroll saw blades is not importing #0 Pin Less Blades anymore leaving me up a creak without a paddle. So the question is you are familiar with the type of Fretwork Complex patterns I cut. I’m not totally relaxed using Spirals and I know they have a huge following, so what I’m really asking if I can’t get #0 will #1 or #1 reverse tooth do the job.
  16. Thank You Marie, it was a great cut to do.
  17. Thank you Marg, it’s a great challenging pattern to cut (for me anyway) but enjoyed every minute of it.
  18. Thank you Richard, I am, it took me quite awhile but very happy with the results, now to do his partner.
  19. Thank You, will do.
  20. Thank you Denny, it was challenging but very enjoyable cut.
  21. Thank you, a challenging cut but most enjoyable.
  22. There’s two problems we have only one importer and his run out of stock and can’t say when his new stock will arrive. The scroll saw community is not very big here so he only orders blades once a year. The other is financial circumstances.
