That looks great. Best name plate (bookmark) I've seem.
  3. I like what .../Hans suggests. I also use another method other than blue painters tape. Next time you go shopping, pick up a roll of 'Glad's Press N Seal' , Use Press n Seal instead of Blue Painters tape. You do need a way to roll the Press N Seal flat. I use a little roller to press it down Home Depot/Lowes We keep adding to your expenses, but there is always the learning.
  4. Ike, I read this as these are the blades she has at hand.
  5. Just a guess, The 7, 10 are just too course of a blade. Maybe the 15 will work...but.. start with the skip tooth 18.5TPI 1/4 ply is the best of what you have at hand. The small teeth of the 18.5 blade will reduce splintering... may not stop all splintering. The other blades may be a little too rough.
  6. With my saw on the fritz, I've been preping wood. Anything to scratch the itch
  7. I enjoy seeing such lovely work, reading the comments. Helps start my day.
  8. You make me smile. Your chicken is a fine chicken. You did a good job. Love to see you do the rabbits.
  9. Very good cut and nice pattern.
  10. Big 'ol John Wayne sure as shootin'. Looks great.
  11. The red shows up better, i'd like either.
  12. That skunk is a stinker and you're not supposed to count your chickens. I must say, the combination looks good. You did fine. That should be known as 'The Krunde' font.
  13. Good job!!! Great work!!! That's nice looking.
  14. It looks like a Blue Spruce or maybe a Fir. Good job.
  15. You do a good job. They all look nice.
  16. A lot also depends on what other tools you have access to. Planer, table saw etc. I don't remember if you listed your tools. Kinda like Roly said, Ask around, look around, scrounge and buy cheap at first.
  17. Worst piece on the bottom, save if you can or toss if it's just too much work.
  18. Sloan's Woodshop - " The Scroll Saw Store " www.sloanswoodshop.com/ - Similar to Sloan's Woodshop - " The Scroll Saw Store " Welcome to Sloan's Woodshop - The Scroll Saw Store. Mike's Workshop English featuring: my life story, a cancer ...https://www. mikesworkshop.com/ I order from both Sloan's and Mikes. Good prices & good blades IMHO
  19. Kelly, I read your profile. I like you, but I'm not trying to sweep you off your feet. I think you 'will' like it here. Please feel at home, ask questions and offer advice. Gee and cook a meal for the Village... Larry
  20. Welcome Dan...
  21. Use medium locktite...don't use 'sieze forever'
  22. Strong possibility the screw you clamp against has loosened up and backed out a little. When you tighten against it, you are bending the blade into a crevis. Take these screws out and coat them with medium locktight and reinstall "flush".
  23. Hi, my name is Dudley and I am a alcoh... Actually I'm one of the Larry's here and I am a scrollaholic. The Dewalt is a well accepted and a good saw. Now Scott, you piqued (as in curiosity) my interest in your 'Wall Maps' How about showing some pictures to us. Ask, you'll get answers. Like anything the more you use the saw, the better you get. Welcome Scott ... Mort.
  24. I have no solution for you. I have only cut a miximum of 1 1/4 inch thick and had similar problems. I solved this with a change to a medium sofl wood, Spanish Cedar. You are well past the maximum for in my opinion for making any turning cuts. Most especially for the harder wood. Maybe someone has a solution...I'll wait to see.
