  1. Ok, Now I need to check the Hawk I'm checking out tomorrow for a bench light.
  2. Beautiful pattern, grand cut!
  3. Welcome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Doug, Happy Birthday coming up in a week. We've had a lot of birthdays (un)together. I was born eleven days after Pearl Harbor, 1941. Wish your siblings (all sisters it looks like) a happy birthday from me. Even the one in August. If I livedd near by, I would push to go with you to Bushton, Kansas
  5. Thank you and I have always know that I get one of my Christmas presents on my Birthday. LOL I am checking the Hawk out tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00 am. looks good that it's coming back with me.
  6. Good news Kevin and the loss of some pics doesn't taint anything. Now, go cut some cedar
  7. I got comments....to your comment. Please ask questions. Some of us got interupted before we could answer it last time and we are hoping it will come up again. At the top right of each page at SSV is a SEARCH BAR, just enter a term that pretains to the page you are on. Never, never claim failure!! And ask it even if you know the answer. Here's why you ask when you know the answer... because there is more than one way to do it. What's your Shepherd's name? Make him your avitar. He's helping by making kindling.
  8. You did good. As I look at the windows, it looks like the lights are on in the house. Hans, you painted it before you cut it. Right? Great piece.
  9. Sully, I can pick it up, 20 minutes away.
  10. Looks good that Friday I will check out the Hawk on Friday Dec 12. It's still available. The man selling it said,' I bought it six years ago, things got in the way. I never turned it on.' Funny, it's not a new saw but it's not a used saw. I like it.
  11. You're that good Hans..........LOL
  12. When wood warps it is hard to remove and mostly useless to try. When plywood warps it exacerbates the problem to correct it. Single ply wood may warp when the temperature / humidity changes. One of the primary reasons why plywood is used. So, when it warps.. Use what you can, toss the rest.... Just my opinion...... Sorry
  13. Is this correct?????????? Good Hawk Saw Bad Hawk Saw
  14. Can you tell by the picture? Any other details I should look for? Are the back arm supports all red and easy to see? This is a 2008 saw.
  15. JC, welcome to SSV. May you have a wonderful Christmas and Holiday Season also. I wish you well in your new location and that you become a grand fan of scrolling like 'US.'
  16. Just watched the movie about Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons. Sherry, Sherry baby Sherry, Sherry baby Sherry baby, .... Got a bit carried away. Welcome to SSV and that was a nice intro.. May all go well with your scroll sawing so you decide to upgrade your saw. It is an addicting hobby.
  17. How much is a 'New' Hawk? I don't know the model or year and can't call him until 01:00pm today.

  20. I have an option of either of these saws. A used Hawk pictured here..... on Craigslist Scroll Saw - Brand New - $450 or Best Offer - Contact ............. Or a A brand new Dewalt My wife wants me to get the Dewalt because it has a warrenty PS: The saw I buy will be my second saw. I have a Delta 20-690 I bought in 2010
  21. I'm impressed. Good cutting and the frame is quite nice.
  22. Berry, I tried a spiral and quit imediately. Now, I going to give them another chance. As to your question, I thought a spiral was 'just a spiral.' The only difference is some are poorly made. So I will follow and see other replies.
  23. I vote for Tiger Cub or Russells ideas.
  24. Beautiful work Dan and so selfless of you.
