  1. Well worth showing. That looks great.
  2. Oh, and sounds like an interesting project. Please post some pics
  3. Contact the scroll blade sellers... Sloans Woodshop or Mikes Flying Dutchman. They will answer your questions and sell you the right blades.
  4. Found my problem, now to get it fixed. My variable speed potentiometer (pot) wore out. (variable speed control) I don't want to spend $80 for PC Board just to get the potentiometer. I probably can jury rig a different pot but would like original equipment. Any ideas where I can get just the original pot?
  5. You gave her a nice portrait. Beautifully cut.
  6. Very nice. Unique piece looks very good.
  7. You did good. Glad you didn't use a Debit Card. I don't know if I could do that good but I'd be happy if I did.
  8. Thanks, I checked those & resoldered. Next to check with meter to see if there is more 'juice' when you increase the speed.
  9. Price Vibration Noise Blade Changing Ease Durability Table Tilt Guage accuracy Variable Speed Table length/width Warrenty All scroll saws should have * Blowers, * Blade tensioningDelta 20-690 Type 1 Price 4.5 $350 in 2010 w/table light ... $399 no table/light 2014 Vibration 5.0 On pad not bolted down, no vibs Noise 4.0 Moderately quite, no ear plugs needed Blade Changing Ease 5.0 I think it is easy. Only experienced w/Delta & Dremel Durability 3.0 Something will break with in three years Table Tilt Guage accuracy 3.0 Guage markers too wide, U can be off by 1 or 2 degrees using it. Variable Speed 3.0 Good variable speed. Bad because if it goes you have to buy mother board Table length/width 5.0 Nice wide table Warrenty 3.0 Warrenty is poor because if you want past 90 days you have to buy it. My thoughts Travis. Thank you for starting this.
  10. I don't think so. All the wires are housed together as a cable in a tube running from front to back.
  11. It's a 40-690 Type1 Delta (Dewalt look-a-like). Had a switch problem and since I took the switch cover off the variable speed does not work. Dewalt Tech says I have to order new pc board and it comes with the variable speed control (potentiometer) My variable speed potentiometer (pot) wore out. (variable speed control) I don't want to spend $80 for PC Board just to get the potentiometer. I probably can jury rig a different pot but would like original equipment. Any ideas where I can get just the original pot?

    Hi!

Welcome to here. So glad you joined us. Ah, a sawmill, a wood source in Texas, and you imply you are trading wood for a saw. I wish you well in obtaining your scroll saw, learning intarsia, reading...which we will patiently wait you to finish and then your questions. Your projects sound intruiging and would be interesting to see. So read away and tour the Village. Stop by the Coffee Shop and chat anytime. Interesting place where the 'chatter scrollers' gather.
  13. I enjoyed looking and those are nice. Great job and they will be appreciated.
  14. You gotta feel good about your scroll work. Good job.
  15. Wife won't let you go huh.
  16. I've been there three maybe four times. Twice it showed one person but noone replied to my chat. Roy Orbison's ... Only The Lonely Beetles ,,, Eleanor Rigby something like 'to get all the lonely People...' The Chat Room is a lonely place. It's like the Coffee House is the Chat Room for a dozen of so people.
  17. LOL, Tha is great. Very nice... I like it.
  18. As Craig said, the important ones know.
  19. Yes, they look just fine. Good job.
  20. homemade paste ... You can tape patterns on
  21. That's a keepsake. A good job. Can you do a search for homemade glue!!!!!!
  22. I can see it now and it looks great.... good job Kelly.
  23. Train enthusiasts and me love that. Mr Dearing made a great pattern. You did it justice.
  24. Yepper, blade change is strange. You're the one to tell me how to change blades and thread holes. The bottom clamp is odd looking to me. This saw, never used and maybe not completely assembled is 'rusty' from sitting in an unheated garage for six years. The bottom clamp is so loose that I removed it with my fingers along with a copper sleeve that goes around it. There is a 3/4 wide metal spring plate that must tighten to hold these pieces firmly in place. The bottom clamp assembly and the copper sleeve both have a 1/8 inch hole. The blade has to fit in this hole to be clamped. The bottom clamp has to be installed in place, the 3/4 spring plate tightened then the blade inserted. One the bottom clamp is securely in place, I cannot see the 1/8 inch hole to insert blade. No user instruction manual available as yet. So until I feel comfortable that I can thread blades in holes as easily as I do with my Delta, I will not buy it.
  25. That is so cute, the colors are perfect.
