  1. Jim, I would just round the edge so it is smooth to the touch. Finish...Thats touchy for two reasons. You want to be careful you don't clog the peg holes. I'm not a super finisher. But I like lacquer
  2. You're all right, but wouldn't you drop the price by $40 to $50 without a stand?
  3. Which boat is yours? Just looking at this picture, I see loads of possible scroll patterns. I haven't looked at your profile but it should say something about 'fishing'. Welcome to SSV and adding another beautiful section of the world to our family here. We welcome advice and love new ideas. As Kevin says, ask and you will receive an answer. Oh, breakfast is your treat tomorrow (or today if you want). I take my coffee with just 1/2 fn 1/2 Remenber to fix tea and chai. Again, welcome 'HERE'.
  4. Scratch that for me. Too many people like to see $$$$$$$$$ signs in front of their eyes also.
  5. There are other type picture frames than the ones that you cut to match corners. Old barn wood picture frames commonly are four pieces where the corners overlap. Don't know proper terms. The corners have protruding edges. Each side of the frame extends past the corner by an inch or so. Where the two pieces of wood overlap, you miter each piece to mesh together. Old wood and over lap to me go well together.
  6. It's less than 20 miles, I'd pick up or he'd deliver. THere are three others within 50 miles on Craigslist ... 1) $450, 2) $350, 3) $325 I'm going to irritate them all... and offer $175 Never know what may happen.
  7. A show cage and not only a bird cage, also a decorative piece.
  8. Kevin, there is only so much time and that means scrolling 16 hours doesn't leave much for the other 40 things. So something has to pile up. You do good and you are Amazing but you are restricted to 24 hours and some has to be for eating and sleeping. You've proven yourself many times over. Take a bow. May the Good Lord bless you over and over.
  9. I'm listening. ... excuse me for a minute while I get another beer. Be right back.
  10. What price does a new Dewalt 788 go for now days? This guy wants $350 for used, without a stand. Thought I would tell him Amazon has new for $399 with stand. And Grizzly has them for $450 and I'll give him $175. He'll probably be insulted and not reply. Got nothing to lose I guess. Use it for backup and do what Jim Finn does. Set it up for inlay meantime. Thanks all.
  11. Scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As long as it keeps you happy. Did you see the article about the London museum of fretwork? You do such intricate and amazing cuts. I would love to spend a week watching you scroll.
  12. You got a winner! It looks great. The tray is a good addition. But, picture #1 looks like you might get bit if you reach for the gumball. I made one once and the gumballs would sometimes hang up. I didn't make the prize dispensor correct. It was a little hard to turn.
  13. Ain't interested in knowing some things. But I know it's a kilt !!!~
  14. Dick, that was a good try. I need the diagram of the switch. I have item 64 in 4 parts. The on/off switch, a plastic rocker, a small copper plate that the rocker uses for contact and the bottom housing that has the connectors. It's the small copper plate that I have to determine which way it goes in the housing. I put it all together once and when I turned it on, I blew a fuse. New fuse and I'll try again. Oh, I ordered a new switch... snail return, delivery in 15 to 20 days. I want to get it running or ...uh,,,twittle my thumbs for 3 weeks
  15. Very good and that deserves repeating, Very good.
  16. Said before.......Brushes
  17. Tindi Cindi you are welcome here. What kind is your new saw? We are reasonable folk here, don't expect much except for you to take your turn fixing tea and coffee some mornings. If you can cook, breakfast would be good. Remember, breakfast could be anytime since we are multi-national. If you fix eggs, some have to be fried upside down for our Australian and New Zealand members. Some in the southern zones like hot sauce. Make a 'Full English' for guess who. A Scottish breakfast is... well, porridge, sausage, pies and beer. But most of all...participate and show pictures.
  18. Government CLOWNS know no borders. Regretfully, they generate no humor.
  19. Yes sir, that is great work
  20. Congratulations! Make sure the table is set at 90 degrees with a compass or other method. Then look at the table tilt guage. See how close they match. Wax the table before you use it and wax frequently. Check and tighten all screws/bolts. Keep the sawdust under control...if that is possible with a new saw.
  21. Lee, you know your wood and how to match them for an excellent Piece of work.
  22. Paul, Yes that looks exactly right. I took my switch apart and the cause of the problem was extra, extra fine collection of dust. I cleaned it up but made a amateur mistake. Didn't notice how to put it back together. I made a guess and blew a fuse. Now I need a fuse.
  23. Yes, Yes, Yes Praise God. With a jumper, it runs,
  24. This is the culprit. Thanks everyone for your help. And thank you Dick for the instructions. So now I have to go on a switch hunt. But I will not go to Salem, Mass,,, har har Do you know who might carry them. Oh, I don't want a foot switch.
  25. How about just a cup O coffee and thank you Keith for taking time out of your busy schedule to open the Cafe and fix hot tea and coffee here for all, with a fresh load of Cornish Pastie still hot from the oven and you now just sitting on the beach enjoying wall to wall sunshine before the wet and windy day later on. Good Morning SSV!
