  3. G-O-L-L-Y ... e-v-e-r-b-o-d-y has a way... x-spermint... I like my way .... use Glad Press n Seal ...spray glue and 2" clear package tape
  4. To answer one of your questions... BLO is Boiled linseed oil and most of us mix it 1/2 & 1/2 with mineral spirits so it dries quicker. Ralph will have to tell you what blade...etc he used. UI know he will tell you if he reads your question... else, PM him your question..
  5. Welcome... Pleased to have you aboard. Wish you the best on getting a great saw. Keep us updated... Wish you the best, it is a great hobby and tension releaver....
  6. Welcome Maurice. A good saw is important, one that performs well. Try to stay away from any that require pins in the blades. It would be good to hear a list of saws that are for sell in South Australia. Most will probably recommend a saw that is not available to you. WE have other members in Austraalia that may chime in... like Marg (Wombatie)
  7. I would like to shake your hand. God Bless
  8. I agree with Joe
  9. I may be a little confused on your question. My answer would be to use Inkscape or some pattern making software. You could also post the picture in "Pattern Help" and see if one of the members will make you a pattern from the picture.
  10. That Red Oak makes the sun look hotter... Very nice scroll work.
  11. Lookin' good.......
  12. Knob did not work......It ended up to be dust in the switch
  13. Yes you were missed. Pleased you checked back in
  14. Unless you spent years studying wood and stain, never stain. That kitty is just perfect the way she is. Brush her with a little BLO. I like the wood and your cutting of the kitty. Just a nice finish is all you need. No backer is necessary...
  15. Looks good. I need something like that.
  16. Yes, cleaning them after each use and adjusting them again before each use is a hassle. But when you need to spray and want to cut cost.... You need a compressor 2-3HP compressor 8.6 CFM @ 40PSI. HVLP sprayer ... Sears or Husky or Harbor Freight are about the cheapest Lots of lacquer thinner... One other problem is ... it is a big hassle, irritation and nuisance to spray one small item, ya know, one coat probably don't cover it so you gotta wait for it to dry. Meantime, your spray nozzle is drying also. You need more than one canister so you can switch from lacquer/BLO to your cleanup (lacquer thinner) canister. I spray a lot but find ever now and then, the rattle can is so much handier for a small, single project.
  17. Like already said...dust most likely LOL... sawdust aint water, though it does have moisture which causes it to pack together... friendly little fibers that love to stay together. It stays where it falls, unless your holes are big... like huge.. like you cut the bottom out.
  18. Top or bottom feed, you and your saw work well together.
  19. Please tell me the wood you used. Those look great.
  20. Great work, Dick !
  21. Two saws... two saws... two saws... You need two saws.... I have two Deltas and they both have a pattern being cut. Take a break on one and start cutting on the other.
  22. This is a Jim Finn topic. Here's what little I think I know: ******************************************** * 2 Degrees +- * Blade thickness will affect angle.
  23. Here kitty kitty... Very nice
