  1. Bruce, That's a great cut. Tough one too and you did great. Larry
  2. I would put on a pre stain conditioner. Now getting to the rooks and grannies, simple solution is minimize them as much as possible. Sand and use the dust to fill in. Someone else will chime in with a real or is that reel or rill suggestion. Larry
  3. Vrey funny Keith. I've felt like that sometimes. Larry

  12. Pete, paper pattern and a drill press. Just thought that maybe on the next one I could attach a 1/4 inch hard board while I drill and maybe make a template.
  13. Yepper, a road called 'Ice House Hollow' LOL, RC with peanuts,White buck shoes Carl left out his 'Flattop' haircut I loved playing 'kick the can' * We did not have a football so we took an 8 ounce Carnation condensed milk can and dented around the top and bottom. Used this can to play 'TinCan Football' * Climb inside an old tractor tire and roll down a hill. I only did this once because I upchucked when I got out.

  20. The wood is Mahogany and Hard Maple (a little Spalted) A brass hinge in the center for a pivot There are 397 holes The bottom board is 15 1/2" x 5 1/2" Use the deck of cards for additional reference. The pattern is from Canadianhomeworkshop.com I'm wearing black pants and a gray sweat shirt and am eating chili and crackers. I still have to cut the recess for the cribbage pegs, add magnets, final sanding and finish. The magnets are for holding the two boards in line while playing or in storage. I am making a total of four, all are in various stages. Hence, I have a total of 1588 holes to drill. Larry

  23. This post actually started from a previous post titled: 'We all have them' Started by wombatie, Feb 19, 2014 12:49 AM The end of the above post is the beginning of this one. An eviction notice was served by Marge who said, "Maybe we should start a new thread, "What we miss from our childhood or younger years" What do you say?" What do you miss, what do you remember? Tell us about your yesteryear. Or do you know what a 'church' key is? If you drank beer, you had to have one. *Do you remember when all dish and laundry soap was powder? *Laundry soap came with a towel in the box. *Dish powder had a dish inside. * Flattops and side burns were in style *A Pepsi or Coke was called Pop, soda, dope
