    Thanks everyone. I have another half of that box done due to making a mistake, then having to buy another piece of oak and it finally matched. The other pieces aren't even close color wise. One piece of the wood was really light and one really dark, it was all red oak. It's amazing the difference there can be in two pieces of the same kind of wood. Some put a colored liner in a box like this? I have never tried it.

    Welcome to SSV. I would look into the saw first. Find your serial number and call the company. They will tell you about the motor, whether it's old and could be a problem. The lady I talked to explained the deal with the old motor, what could happen and how much it would cost.. I didn't buy the saw it was looking new but was actually very old. They can tell you how old it is.. If you want to spend the money for first class I'd go with the 16" King or wait for the 21" Otherwise the Dewalt is a good saw too.

    I fially finished the pattern Bob made. I used the whole pattern for the top and half for the front and sides. 1/4" Oak and no idea what I'll do with it, probably sell it. Thanks again Bob

    I use semi gloss poly and 321. Usually put it on with a cloth or brush.
