  7. I have been out for awhile working early shift and busy around the house. I'm on vacation for the next ten days. The Illinois State pattern is from Dave, thanks again. The Beatles is another from a drawing on Deviant Art by Lucene-k. She gave me permission to use her drawing to make the pattern. Thanks again Lucene-K. Gods gift is another I had finished for everyone. This walnut Tree of Life is actually a band saw pattern but I did all but the front and back of the two bottom drawers on my scroll saw. The others I had to do on my band saw. It was done from two pieces of walnut about 1 1/4" thick and is 6 1/4 X 6 1/4. The finish is mineral oil. The Angel is done from a pattern by Mahendra-thanks for the pattern, but I got to messing around with my dremel and used a diamond tip and did it on glass. Coments welcome.

  23. Thanks. A few people my wife works with really like band saw boxes I've done. They've asked if I'd sell them but she tells them I can't part with them. Maybe some day.
  24. I have gotten really interested in band saw boxes but decided to try this on the scroll saw. I glued two pieces together and cut all the pieces. I then glued it all together, four 3/4" pieces, main body, drawers etc. I had to do some sanding but was able to get it done. I found the easier way is to cut one piece at a time, two at a time are a little to thick. It's Western Red Cedar my brother gave me and mineral oil for the finish. Cedar is a little too soft for a jewelry box but it's a first try and the second I'm going to do in Walnut. The pattern is free from Carmichael workshop.com. He has several free interesting patterns. It's about 10x7 and it's a little smaller than it is supposed to be. It is going to work with my wife for her shelf in her office. I really like the smell of that wood and it comes back after the mineral oil dries.
  25. Great work. I agree with the flower idea.
