Vector01 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in My brother-in-law came over the house and asked me to do a set of tigers for him. I hated to refuse...So here we go again. I really wanted to do some scrollwork. Since there's no rush for these, I think I'll do both. I guess I can walk and chew gum at the same time Quote
Firedkm Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Wow great work.....I have never tried out woodburning yet. Not sure I am that artistic Quote
Travis Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Boy, that's going to turn out really cool. I've been keeping my eye on burning tools. Someday I'll buy one and try my hand at it. Nicely done! Quote
Christina Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Absolutely beautiful Vector. Tigers are one of my favorite things to burn. What are they on though......bookmarks? Keychain Fobs? Whatever, they are going to be gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Christina Quote
Messman Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Those are fantastic and I am sure they will be loved for many years to come. Quote
shadylady0447 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Very, very nice work, Vector. Your brother-in-law is one lucky guy! Quote
Vector01 Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Posted November 5, 2009 Finished the first one. Now for number two. Quote
Travis Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Wow...that looks amazing. I can't wait to see the other ones. Nicely done! Quote
Firedkm Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Holy s**t that is awesome! How long did it take you to finish the tiger? Quote
Vector01 Posted November 7, 2009 Author Report Posted November 7, 2009 Thanks! Took about three weeks (on and off). It's easier for me to do a scroll cut than a burn. Holding the pen (nib) for extended periods cramps up my hand. The scroll cuts take much less pressure to manipulate the wood so I can work longer. I'll have the second one done before the holidays. He is thinking I'll be charging him for the pieces. It will be his Xmas gift this year Quote
Marshall Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 This is some very very pretty work , it looks like you may need to make more projects with this kind of talent . Quote

Dan Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 WOW! Beautiful work. I tried woodburning once and hated it, couldn't get the knack. Hey, if you like scrolling more, try scrolling that pattern. That would be awesome, too. Quote
Marshall Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 This has got to be a different art for sure , but it appears that your real good at it , maybe one day I'll try my hand at this pretty art . And thanks for sharing your talent ..............Marshall Quote

Marshall Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 This would make a person want to start trying this wood burning , it sure adds a lot to the project....... Quote
Vector01 Posted November 22, 2009 Author Report Posted November 22, 2009 Hi All: Thanks for all the great comments. Speaking of trying it out, it's not any harder to learn than scrollen. You can pick up a Walnut Hollow woodburning set for around $25.00 dollars. That way if you don't like it there's no big investment. When I first started I had quite few pieces that ended up as kindling. Happy Thanksgiving Quote
Clayton717 Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 those are awesome, I have never been able to do woodburning on that scale. great job Quote
