Scrolling Steve Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Nice Crest, One of our pattern guys will come up with a usable pattern for you! Quote
Birchbark Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 I really don't think it is "cutable", in the sense that you won't know what it is after it's done. But maybe one of these ideas will get you going in the direction you want to go. See what you think. There are several troublesome places IMO, the wheat for one. Russell bobscroll 1 Quote
Fish Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Third one look more possible you would just have to make some connections. I wouldn't look that bad when done either. I'm not that fast though. Quote
LarryEA Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Maybe a large size where you could make bridges. Quote
fredfret Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 I would cut that in layers like the "collecter" plates and 3D pictures. Fredfret Wichita, ks Quote
bobscroll Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Hi Larry, Would this be any good to you? Bob Quote
DonR Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Just playing around on a rainy day. I found this other Seagraves crest on the net which is a little different from yours but has the same elements and was easier to work with. Don't know if you can use it but here it is anyway. rjR Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 If you combine scroll work and woodburning together; I bet the patterns presented can become very usable. Quote
penquin Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 WOW that is some great pattern work. Can't wait to see the cut. jim penquin Quote

kywoodmaster Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 Thanks everyone for your efforts. I am not sure that I am capable of this at this time. I am getting ready to start work on the Baby cradle for my Son soon and was thinking about this for the headboard. If I decide to try to cut it I will post pics. Again many thanks for everyone's efforts. Later Larry Quote
crupiea Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 The wheat bales will be the tough part as most have pointed out. They have to be really big in order to not be washed out or just look like big clumps. One idea, if its going onto a headboard is to make it real big. make the boarder part first and then do the wheat bales individually. Attach the whole thing to the headboard. Gotta figure you can make the boarder part twice the size of your saw base so if you have a 16" plate then that boarder can technically be 30" or so. Of course you have to factor in some room to turn the piece around to do the cuts. That will give you a good try at the wheat bales to show some dimension in them. Quote
Multifasited Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I would do it as a segmentation! Quote
