gunnerb47 Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Hey Y'all I am in the vacinity of Houston Texas and decided I would like to find small independant mills to deal with. Been thinking about doing this for awhile but have not spent much time searching. I like what I see on Ebay but think the shipping is very prohibeted and there fore want some driving distance resources. If you know of any one in this area I would appreciate hearing form you. Have a great day and keep making saw dust. gunnerb47 Bill amazingkevin 1 Quote

GrampaJim Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) We are lucky in Wisconsin. Beside Ocooch Hardwoods that everyone knows about, There is Kettle Moraine Hardwoods in Hartford (10 miles from me) and another branch on Caledonia, Wis. Terry Jay Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 I use Craigs List looking for local woods and find some that way. Also, if there are any WoodMizer dealers in the area they may know who among their customers will make custom cuts. Terry Quote

gunnerb47 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Report Posted November 28, 2015 thanks to all for your suggestions. I have a couple of local within 30 miles hardwood sellers but always on the look for that deal. I caught a few off the local buy sell pages on FB, people doing clean outs. Nothing fantastic but every piece of wood helps out with the sawdust habit we have. Hope everyone had a enjoyable Thanksgiving. Quote
SDB777 Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 WoodMizer has a section in their website called "Find a Sawyer", I'm listed in there...as well as a LOT of other sawyers with sawmills. I am portable, but you're a tad bit too far to drive. Scott (been to Houston a bunch though) B Quote
