Cliff posted a Steve Good pattern that he cut and I liked it so much that I wanted to cut one also, for myself. So a couple of days ago, I took some of the Alter wood that my grandson gave me from his cabinet shop and made one. I missed the pattern on Steve's site but was so glad that Cliff made one and posted it. I usually do not post something I make that I see others already have made and posted but this time I decided to do that to show Cliff how ones posts can influence others. Thanks again for your post. I enjoyed cutting it

Dick, that's an awesome clock, I really appreciate you posting it even though Cliff posted his first. No matter how many times I've viewed something, I always like seeing other people rendition of the same item.

Looks great Dick.  Different woods make the same project look different, besides we would have to have them lined up on the same photo to tell that they are the same.  Well done Dick.

So that's what that clock is supposed to look like. Great Job.

Cliff,

You did your clock perfectly, That is the very reason that  I even had to make one. I had seen this clock before but yours stood out to me when I first layed eyes on it. I did not post it as a comparison of your work and mine not did I post it to show mine off, but rather to point out to you and others, that a post of ones work, may just be what is needed to inspire others to try that pattern too. One thing I like about scrolling is that every piece is a little different from another because wood it of nature and no two pieces of wood are the same. The color and grain patterns vary in each piece and hence everyone one is unique. Thank you Cliff for inspiring me. I had fun making it.. I like the way you used the little flags on yours and I probably would have done that too but I decided to see what it was like without changing anything about the pattern, when I cut it. Keep up the good work, my friend and keep inspiring me.

I was really just joking around. I'm a rookie at this hobby. Matter of fact the clock was only my second piece from start to finish. I did a little things different then you did. Like you stated I used the American flags instead of the ones used in the original pattern. Also so a shadow wouldn't be cast I put black construction sheet as backing. If you noticed especially from the side angle you can't see the workings of the clock. It's all enclosed.

At the time of me building this clock I was fighting double vision. Noticed my flags are off line. Also I never noticed the edging with the BB wood. When I posted the clock I just noticed my mishaps. I almost gave up this hobby because of that fight but my doctor reassured me that he would be able to fix me right up. And yes he did that. I'm noticing things I haven't in a long time.

I said all that to say this. In no way shape or form am I insulted. Matter of fact just the opposite. I was flattered.

By putting our clocks side by side I took it to heart i'm on the right track in this world of scroll sawing. I patted myself on by back and said good job Cliff. Wanna good laugh I sold that clock for 65 American bucks and have an order for 3 more from my local VFW. But I have another week before I can get my eyes in the saw dust. Doctor's orders.

So my friend keep up the awesome work. Please understand that i was just teasing myself with that comment.

Ciao

Cliff
