Scrolling Steve Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Fantastic work for a great cause !.....Way to go Brian ! Quote
Rolf Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Wow? Worth every penny. Were you at the auction while the bidding was going on? Quote
heppnerguy Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 That kind of results makes it all worth while. I know that I feel better when I give a donation piece or just a gift of my work to someone that really appreciates it. I am sure you are very delighted that you took the time to do such a nice job on this one and that it brought such a nice bid. Way better than just selling it, at least that is how I feel about my donations. Very nice work. Dick heppnerguy Quote

meflick Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Hi Brian. Another great piece of artwork from one of JGR patterns. You did excellent work with it and the price it sold for reflects that. Be sure to send it to Judy to see if you haven't. She would be thrilled to see it and know that it was sold for a great cause at an awesome price I am sure. As a newbie to intarsia, I took her beginner class back in May. I learned a lot. Love seeng the projects you and others share as it helps me to see how others do their work. Hopefully one day I can do a piece half as well so that I am comfortable donating it for auction to a worthy charity. Having lost several family members to cancer, including my dad when he was only 52 (lung cancer,) I thank you for helping raise funds for cancer research. Quote

country girl Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 That is so nice Brian. Can you please tell me how you did your finish on that piece.? Quote
Bpardue Posted August 12, 2016 Author Report Posted August 12, 2016 Finish is a lemon oil wash and 3 coats of a clear gloss spray paint; sanding with steel wool between each coat Quote
