I do not remember seeing this pattern in the magazine but I do like it quite a bit. It has an eye catching appeal to it. very nice, thanks for posting..I hope you get your saw back up and running soon

Delano, CWWC is short for the bankrupt magazine, 'Creative Woodworks and Crafts'.  I have copies going back to 2007.  BLO is also short for Boiled Linseed Oil.  I mix it 50% with Mineral Spirits.  Don't be sorry about asking good questions.

Paul, there is a connection between the top blade holder and the motor.  The screw cracked.  I am replacing the complete assembly per Ray's suggestion.

I replaced that on mine a while back, took me a little time, but not difficult.

As I was cutting this trivet, the EX 21 broke down and I had to finish it on the old DeWalt 788.  It still works.  The pattern is by Sue Mey and found in CWWC August 2013.  I used 1/2" Hard Maple and FD UR #5 blades.  It is approximately 7 1/2" in diameter.  For the finish I used 50% BLO.  Comments welcome.

Lol i have 7 dw788's for back up but they were abused before i got them some how .No scratches anywhere ,not even on the table.they all knock and i'm sure they need new bearings or regrease them and press two out.I just can't win.So i know the feeling when your ol stand by give it up for the ghost.Saturdays coming :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
