wombatie Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Thanks Paul for the patterns, these were so easy to cut. They are cut from 1/2" pine and I have no idea what blade I used because I cut them last weeks and my memory does not last that long.  I will not mention that the customer wants to paint them because Melanie said that I should not mention when something is going to be painted so I won't, OK. Rob Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Nothing like lettering to show off your cutting skills, and those Marg are top notch. Even with the slightly out of focus picture you can tell that those are 110% perfect, bang on the money. Beautiful cutting. Rob wombatie, danny and Fab4 3 Quote
Fab4 Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) Hi Marg: You're welcome They turned out really good Well done Thanks for showing us As for painting them, I have no problem with painted wood projects Sometimes a little color adds to the design - Kind of makes it your own Fab4 Edited November 2, 2016 by Fab4 wombatie 1 Quote

Kepy Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Nice job and painting on something like that is fine. Years ago when I was doing a lot of names, I created a template of the letters I liked and just drew a line on the wood and traced around the letters. I used to work part time at HD and before Christmas we set up a couple of weekends and did cuttings for all the kids that came through the store. wombatie 1 Quote
meflick Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Those look great Marg. You're right - I said we shouldn't mention if we were going to PAINT , as noted in your emoticons - you knew I was teasing - its all about that wood grain isn't it! But then, there are times that paint works - really its all about what the customer wants isn't it! So, feel free to mention Painting or not. I'm sure there are times that I will want to paint something. wombatie 1 Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Very nicely cut Marg. Paul did a great job on the pattern. Thanks for sharing these with us. DW wombatie and Fab4 2 Quote
rjR Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 I do like them. Very nice work. As I also do a lot of name plates; I will be using the idea of joining the lettering on both top and bottom as seems to fit. Thanks to Fab4 for that idea. Paint or not paint is a very individual choice. I like some things painted and others not painted. My very plain toy cars/trucks seem to have more appeal unpainted While the more realistic ones; like my avatar, seem to look better painted. wombatie and Fab4 2 Quote
