Kevin Latimer Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 This may be a stupid question. But if i want to create a pattern that is larger in lengtg than the page display in inkscape, how do i do that. Since inkscape will only work with in that space. Like say i want to make a verticle plaque thats 20" long. How would i go about designing it so that its proportionate and works in that space. Quote
don in brooklin on Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 I would work in 50% of the size I wanted and then save as a PDF. In Acrobat Reader DC there is an option to poster in the print function. Do at 200% and then that will spread the image over multiple sheets. There is an option to add cut marks that makes the taping together easier. Kevin Latimer and amazingkevin 2 Quote
DonR Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 Go to "File" " Document Properties" then under "Custom Size" Make the work space any size you need. Hope this helps. Don R Kevin Latimer, Falcon and Forester 3 Quote

Travis Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 You can design it the size you want it, then break it up into multiple sheets, then tape them together. Here's a tutorial on printing oversized patterns: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/articles.html/_/pattern-making/inkscape/printing-oversized-patterns-r21 Kevin Latimer 1 Quote
