Great idea Clayton. I have 4 of the doors in my shop and couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with them. Now I know! Thanks.

Rocker has a pattern for a old time mail truck that uses the doors as well. I believe it's a $ 1.00 now. I made one several years ago and plan to do a couple more.

I also made the truck. It was a fun project.

Here is my latest project. Banks that look like an old mail box, using old post office box doors. They measure 8 1/2" tall. They are made from left to right - sycamore, maple and cherry

Three beautiful pieces there Clayton. Perfection I would say, without a doubt. Well done.

Great looking projects, Clayton,

Thanks for sharing the pics and thanks for sharing your pattern.

I'm guessing you sold the maple and the cherry ones.

The cherry was my favorite.

Where can you even get these doors? Can you buy them directly from the post office?

God Bless! Spirithorse

I sold the cherry and maple ones. Cherry was the most popular. I buy my doors from ebay. These have been a big hit. ended up making 8 more and sold 4 of them so far.

Many of those post office doors were taken by post office employees.  I bought four of them from one.  I bet e-bay will have them.  I made four of these just like Claton717.  Thanks for the idea.  Sold three of them,  so  far, one more to go.
