Thanks. Rocker has a pattern for a old time mail truck that uses the doors as well. I believe it's a $ 1.00 now. I made one several years ago and plan to do a couple more. Quote

Scrappile Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Really like what you did. I have one of those doors, maybe this is what I should do with it. I have the plans for a truck bank that goes with these doors, but this seem much closer to the theme. Clayton717 1 Quote

spirithorse Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Great looking projects, Clayton, Thanks for sharing the pics and thanks for sharing your pattern. I'm guessing you sold the maple and the cherry ones. The cherry was my favorite. Where can you even get these doors? Can you buy them directly from the post office?God Bless! Phantom Scroller Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Ok these are a fantastic idea. I want to know how the doors are made please. Roly Clayton717 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 I bought my door from a friend. You can get them off Ebay, and other places. Rockler sells a replica one that is too spendie in my opinion. Do an internet search on "brass post office box doors" . Clayton717 1 Quote
Falcon Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Great job and thanks for the pattern! Clayton717 1 Quote

Clayton717 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Report Posted February 9, 2017 Ok these are a fantastic idea. I want to know how the doors are made please. Roly I buy the doors from Ebay. They are actual doors from a U.S post office. most of the ones I have used date to the 50"s - 60's and are made of Brass. Phantom Scroller 1 Quote
Jim Finn Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) Many of those post office doors were taken by post office employees. I bought four of them from one. I bet e-bay will have them. I made four of these just like Claton717. Thanks for the idea. Sold three of them, so far, one more to go. Edited August 16, 2017 by Jim Finn update Quote
