I think others would agree that you can drop the word "attempted" ..... .... it is a project very well done.. Jay danny 1 Quote

spirithorse Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Great work!I know how difficult that is because I did a portrait like that as a request on one of the forums. Unfortunately, they never cut it or they never showed me a pic of the end result. I have also done some other faces in intarsia but, cannot show them because they were famous people/copyright protected and I don't want my patterns being stolen. Anyway, didn't mean to make this post about me. YOUR work is outstanding. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse Montserrat 1 Quote
Montserrat Posted January 31, 2017 Author Report Posted January 31, 2017 Finished, not quite the way I wanted, but ok - for a first time project. Judy Gale Roberts, I am not. Quote
dgman Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 I think you did a great job Monti! The only critique I have is it is too shiny for my taste. Other then that it is great! Quote
Rob Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 That is simply great Monti. I think I'm correct in saying the wood behind it is not part of the piece? A plainer background would help it stand out more perhaps? Rob Quote
heppnerguy Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 I am amazed at the wonderful job you have done on this project. You should have a lot of people giving you great comments when they see this one on your wall. i hope your husband doesn't think you have put up a new mirror and has trouble figuring out why his reflection is not moving when he does. Just joking around, I do not believe I can remember of an intarsia maker attempting a personal wood portrait of a family member, GREAT PIECE Dick heppnerguy Quote
Fab4 Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Monti: What a great looking dart board. just kidding!!! Your attempt passes with flying colors Be very proud of the outcome Thanks for showing us Fab4 Quote

meflick Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Late to the game so I see you have added the finished pieces. While not too many of us can claim to be a JGR - you did a fine job on your piece. Great job on creating your own pattern and making the final project. Thanks for sharing. Quote
