Mimi Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I finished it today. The person I made it for is very happy and thinks it looks great. It was easier to cut than I thought. Hope everyone is having a great day. Mimi bobscroll, crupiea, JOE_M and 6 others 9 Quote

Mimi Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Placed the diamond tred between 2 pieces of plywood glued the pattern to th wood. Got a cobalt drill bit to drill the holes. Cut it with flying Dutchman iron man metal cutting blades and went slow and steady. wombatie and Dave Monk 2 Quote

munzieb Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Fine cutting. You may have a new future material to work with. Results were great! Mimi 1 Quote
oldhudson Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 You pulled it all together, great job. Mimi 1 Quote
Mimi Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Thank you everyone for the great compliments. And yes Munzieb I think I do have a new material to work with. I was going to try just flat metal next time and see how that looks. My only problem now is figuring out what to attach it to the backer with. I might see how gorilla glue works. Quote
newfie Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 That's awesome what the thickness of the diamond plate? Thanks for sharing Mimi 1 Quote

Mimi Posted July 11, 2017 Author Posted July 11, 2017 I think it is about 1/8 thickness but be careful the edges are sharp. Quote
