John B Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 I was just reading a post by Brenda (Foxfold) about jumping when she breaks a blade, I must admit I jump too. But I really jumped when my 1/4 sheet sander exploded. I'm still finding bits of the fly wheel around the shed. Phantom Scroller and RabidAlien 2 Quote
Loskoppie Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 Wow not nice. I think i might have done more than jump. Fab4 and John B 1 1 Quote

Bill WIlson Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 YIKES! Looks almost like someone planted a bomb in your sander. You got any enemies? John B 1 Quote
jerry1939 Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 My underwear would not have been salvageable. jerry John B 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 I wonder what would cause that! Scary, that could have been dangerous. John B 1 Quote
Karl S Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 I'd have to go change my underwear after that one, Glad you didn't get injured. John B 1 Quote
Jim McDonald Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 Quite a show you put on there John! Had a vacuum cleaner grenade once and wow did that make a mess since a piece of the fan went through the bag on the way out. John B 1 Quote
RabidAlien Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 My response would be: 1. Use my driving words. 2. Change skivvies. Possibly shorts as well. 3. Go to Lowes/HomeDepot to replace. 4. Spend time peering inside the housing of the old-n-busted to see if it could be fixed or repurposed in some other nifty post-apocalyptic way until my wife got tired of it laying around and told me to throw it out. Rockytime Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 I had a jaw come loose from a chuck on my wood lathe at 3800 rpm. Fortunately the jaw flew to the back of the lathe and through the wall and not toward me. Left me shaking! John B and amazingkevin 2 Quote
amazingkevin Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 My ryobe sander did the same thing. Loose screws caused it because someone gave me the broken sander and i needed to make a new block to hold sandpaper on and i could not get it to balance when running. John B 1 Quote
wombatie Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 Oh Wow, I hope you are ok and didn't get hit by any of the shrapnel. Marg John B 1 Quote
