Problem with Facebook

Yesterday we could not open our internet browser on the laptop.  Called the local provider.  Kept getting passed off from one "expert" to another.  Finally it was cured.  Turned off the computer & left for the day. 

Turned on the computer later & the same story as above.  Now it's working fine except that we are locked out of Facebook.  Searched Google, Ask.com & YouTube and found no solution.  Won't open on my Android either.  Facebook states that "I am trying too often".  Another site said that I may need to wait a week.

Found out that you cannot uninstall Facebook, as it is not a program, but a web site (Like Google). 

Anyone else ever run into this?  Thanks in advance.

I did a search and depending on the whys... it is 2 to 7 days or longer. 

Considering this is the year 2019, that is way too long and someone is punishing you. IMO

You can create another account

Open up a private or incognito browser window. depending on your browser it is called something different.

What this does is opens a fresh copy with no cookies and such.  Then try to log into facebook using that.  if you can get in then your issue is your browser cache and cookies. Easy enough, if you are still locked out then you will know the browser is not to blame and you are a bad boy. lol

Thanks.  It won't let me open a 2nd account.  It seems to be connected to the first 2 paragraphs of my posting.

Thanks.  Had already cleared cache & cookies.  Installed Firefox.  Still cannot open FB or create a new account.

Thank You for trying.  Both said to open up Facebook & proceed.  I can't open FB.  Finally found an e-mail address for FB/Help. Sent my sob story.  It said it might take several weeks for a response.  I would call 911 for my dire emergency, but I don't know the number.

Turns out my Facebook page disappeared into the clouds.  Opened a new account.  All is well for now.
